Re: I know that this is old technology... but
I sold a box of about 25 LDs a few years ago along with a 1989-ish Pioneer LD player for about 20 bucks. Several of the discs were Criterion, too! Unlike vinyl records, Laser Discs will not make a comeback and literally nobody cares about them.

Re: Best putty for filling in holes?
I suggest you get more Aves. I finally used up my package of Aves last week after using it for at least 6 years. I can't get Aves locally, so I picked up some Milliput to get me by until I can order more Aves. Big mistake. I've use Milliput in the past for filling seams, but it's not a replacement f...

Re: Aves on Vinyl
I used Aves on a vinyl kit years ago and it's perfectly fine now. The vinyl was really smooth, so I scuffed it a little with sandpaper to give the putty something to grip.

Re: Recent casting experience brings about resin concerns!
In my experience, there are four things that will absolutely cause the resin reaction to fail as you describe: 1) Using old resin. By old, I mean 12-24 months old. 2) Not thoroughly shaking the B side before dispensing. 3) Adding too much B side to the mix. 4) Not thoroughly mixing the A and B sides...

Re: The Decemberists
I've only heard part of a song by this band. It goes " ....if you make it to ten, you won't make it again" Does anyone know the song? Thanks! Steve The song is "Rox in the Box," from the 2011 album "The King is Dead." I love the Decemberists. They make some of the best...

Re: School bans girl's Wonder Woman lunchbox
The story lacks the fundamental facts of where the incident occurred and the name of the school or school district. Without these facts, the assertions made in the story cannot be independently verified. It simple does not hold any water. Given the sorry state of some of our public education systems...

Re: Help with primer
"Scratch and Fill" primer is really thick and is great for filling sanding scratches, but it'll also fill in fine detail on a kit. Look for "sanding primer" which leaves a little bit of texture but sands smooth really easily, or "primer sealer" which goes on smooth and ...

Re: Assembling Vinyl Kits
I've used newspaper and if you pack it in really tight, it seems to work just fine. The insulation foam spray works, too, but you have to take steps to ensure you don't get any foam on the outside part of the kit. If you do, you can usually remove it with some denatured alcohol or acetone before it ...

Re: Shapeways 3D print models question
It really depends upon the particular material your 3D models is made from to answer your question. Most of the larger models are printed in sintered nylon (White Strong & Flexible), which has a very grainy and porous surface. I usually avoid this material since it is very difficult to mold, and...

Re: under the dome fans?
The book was a little quirky, but I liked it. The TV show only shares a title and some character names; it's a completely different story. I watched about half of the first season and bailed.

Re: New Jurassic Park movie coming to Theaters
I don't really like 3D movies, but I did see Jurassic World in IMAX 3D. The larger screen makes the 3D easier to watch, and the sound is awesome. The movie is nearly perfect (for what it aims to be). The best thing about the overpowering sound is that you can yell at the screen during the action and...

Re: Primer from Badger
It is much thicker than the Vallejo primer but sprays well at 20psi. It only comes in white, gray and black. I would suggest to just buy the white and black so you can mix ur own gray. For me the Vallejo is good for primering any thing that will not require sanding or masking. I've had too many bad...
