It's simply kneaded into the clay by hand or pasta maker type machine

This a raw sculpt I did and painted it, I plan to kit it at some point

I do not know the character, but the sculting is excellent, really loveable! But even more realistic is the paintjob, those "semi transparent" colours look so damn realistic! Did you airbrush them or paint by brush? And what colours are these exactly? When watercolours you mean acrylics? ...
