Re: FRANKIE FLYPOGGERSTEIN! The Monster is Finished!

I got to see this guy in person last Saturday. Another great job by Ira. It's really an honor to have Ira as a member of our model club. Every month, he manages to bring something amazing!! And that adjective fits perfectly.

What's next, Ira?

Same here. My dealings with John Green were back before the internet. Mail, flyer and phone calls. He got a ton of my best kits back in the day.

Ah, yes. The Lost Aurora Plastics sca....company.

Re: Black & Blue Bruising?

Chalk pastels are the only way to go to make effective bruising. Purples, reds and browns.

Re: Gorgos missing parts? WTF?

I completely agree. First of all, the kits should arrive with all the pieces. I believe that's Model Kit 101. You don't have much if you don't have all the pieces. Sort of like buying a new car and only getting three tires. I hate to tie it in with the long wait, but Monarch has had MORE than enough...

Re: Acknowledging the greatness of Monsterpalooza

If I were driving, most definitely. I always fly since I am a TERRIBLE long distance driver. What I may do is see if one of my friends in the area can take something down with them.

Re: Acknowledging the greatness of Monsterpalooza

I'm a regular Monsterpalooza attendee and would love to enter something in the model contest. The problem is transporting a kit to Burbank. I fly down from San Francisco and wouldn't trust sending a built up kit to arrive safely. I was disappointed with the number of entries this year. The quality w...

I prefer Dupli-Color primer as well. There's a primer/scratch filler of theirs that I've used for years.

I picked up my Grandpa and Herman last weekend. Another home run by Moebius. Beautifully sculpted and engineered. I'm looking forward to starting on them.

I was lucky enough to see this in person. The pictures don't do it justice. It's an amazing piece of work.

Great work! Yes, all of the monster mobiles are a pain in the neck, ass and any other random body part, to assemble.

Drop an e-mail to Chad at Tweeterhead. I know he retired it in December, but you should check with him anyway. www.tweeterhead.com

Re: 30 Second Tutorial on Faces please.

I'm a huge proponent of chalk pastels for face (and everywhere else) work. You can add subtle shading under the eyes, around the eyes, the cheekbones, skin wrinkles, etc. I've found much greater success with them than with paint - airbrush or brush. Not that you can't achieve great results with thos...

Re: Home Cookin/Nancy's kitchen

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! She was a labor of love and I really did enjoy the whole process. Okay, okay. Those damned bars on the cages gave me a couple dozen more grey hairs! As far as prep work goes, there was very little. The castings were flawless. Maybe the odd air bubble and a bit...

Home Cookin/Nancy's kitchen

With the help of my daughter, we figured out how to get my pics posted. I've been wanting to share this for a couple of weeks now. http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y464/Python62/CIMG7019_zps6cef44e2.jpg http://i1276.photobucket.com/albums/y464/Python62/CIMG7018_zpsf524d383.jpg http://i1276.photob...
