DinoMike wrote: September 8th, 2025, 11:20 pm Forgot to mention, it's also been announced that the Cro-Magnon Woman will also include the original torso parts that were rejected as being a bit risque for 70s kids to be building. :D
I've always had the hots for Cro-Magnon women. Something about the sloped foreheads... 8)

Re: STYRENE VS VINYL VS RESIN [New]

Well, if we're talking making vinyl stand on it's own two legs, I usually assemble the legs and hips (or whatever's on the lower half of your monster) and then fill them with plaster. It takes a few days to dry, but then the bottom is as heavy and as sturdy as resin. I filled the Screamin' 1/4 scale...

Yikes! I'm going to have to try that.

Is that all you have to say about it? Jeesh...

(That was sarcasm). Seriously, that's a lot of knowledge you just typed up!

Re: The Lowbudget Model Museum on YouTube!

Here's my house nowadays:

The decorations, alas, are only up for Halloween....

The white fence was put up when we got beagles. They howl at everyone that walks by - about once every five or ten minutes. Before that, we had a small chain-link fence.

Re: The Lowbudget Model Museum on YouTube!

Wow - that's a lotta emoticons ya got there, pardner! The whole thing came together almost accidentally. The museum's an out-building behind the house; the guy who built the house in 1897 was a cigar vendor and used the room for rolling cigars. It has a cellar and an attic, and it's about 14' X 20'....

Re: The Lowbudget Model Museum on YouTube!

That was a nice 'stroll'! Very enjoyable. The unfinished walls form a wonderful backdrop, and of course the collection is amazing in every aspect. I noticed the motion activated light switches - did those work out as planned? 1) Thanks! 2) They worked out well, but they use electricity constantly, ...

The Lowbudget Model Museum on YouTube!

I got a new camera that blew me away, along with an excellent tripod and a dolly, just so I could film the museum in all its glory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf1L6amy56Q&t=87s https://i.postimg.cc/3y2dCq2f/The-Lowbudget-Model-Museum.jpg Personally, I think YouTube quality sucks, so if anyo...

It kind of follows the novel, but only to a point. Then it takes some real left turns, drastically changing the story.

I should add that, in its favor, the monster makeup is great - and designed by Mike Hill, who's sculpted many a kit.

Done like only a modeler can! =D>

Re: Del Toro's Frankenstein

I got through it last night at a the Coolidge Corner, a GREAT theater in Brookline, Mass. It has its moments. But it's slow, and the girl who plays Elizabeth is either an awful actress or was given an awful role. At any rate, her character is important but ill-defined. Call me a curmudgeon, but I do...

That is SO cool!

I wish this series had come out a bit earlier than the seventies - I was at the age where it wasn't cool to buy toys anymore - though I still secretly wanted to! 8)
