Re: Is There a Jerseyfest 2024 Planned???

I've seen postings on Facebook that there will not be a show in 2024. I don't know of any details, so maybe one of the show organizers can confirm this. Aw man, that is a bummer! I had such a good time last year, I took Saul Alvarez's outstanding airbrush class and was looking forward to taking ano...

Is There a Jerseyfest 2024 Planned???

Subject says it all, am I missing something? Even the Web site seems down! I thought by this time last year there was at least information that the show was going to be held.

Painting Clear Plastic Bottles/Flasks/Test Tubes

Hello my friends, it has been a while! I am going to begin working on a few kits that have clear plastic beakers & flasks, etc. I found the post regarding gluing & polishing them, but I recall something posted regarding painting/filling them so they look like they're filled with liquid, or a...

See, this is why I'm so hesitant to begin kits - you always learn something new that will improve your build (like the finger business discussed by Z_61)!
I think he looks "Frankin'" great! :thumb2:
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the tips guys! The cams / flanges suggestion is more along the lines of what I was thinkging, just curious if anyone had tried it yet and could pass along any tips or pitfalls. The magnet/steel thing would probably work too - might be better for the Victim figure - the flanges on her arms...

Actually, got a couple of Monster Scenes and a Toy Biz Hulk kit lined up for him - the Hulk will be his first glue kit. The only Fink I've seen recently at the LHS is "Outlaw Fink", which is a little too involved for him I think, (the car on this one has LOTS of parts - seems to me many mo...

Bought sets for me AND my son. Man, is he gonna have a rockin' holiday season! Monster Scenes (Doc Deadly, a Victim & Little Frankie), Toy Biz Hulk model, 45th Anniversary GI Joe & accessories, and Bionicles, (oh - we also got him socks & underwear - holiday wouldn't be complete without ...

Again, thanks for the support. He really enjoyed seeing your replies, (and it was good reading practice - I told him he had to read them himself). He only needed help is a few spots. PoS II - He got the idea for the eye from looking at some of my "Big Daddy" Roth kits - he really digs them...

So you're saying totally cut off the pieces that would sit inside the body and secure the arm, so the arms would still sit flush, and then put one magnet on the arm and the other in the body in the arm hole? That sounds like it would work, but would the arms still swivel or would they only "att...

Wolfie,
As always, your work is something I set as a goal - she looks just great! I REALLY like the way her face turned out, (has anyone thought of doing her with different hair colors than brunette?)
Bravo!

Just Got Doc Deadly, But a Question...

Has anyone figured out a way to make the arms interchangeable without separating the figure? I really want to build this so I can switch arms and eliminate as many seams as possible. I'm thinking about taking out the ol' Dremel and goin' to town! Something like the Alfred E Neuman kit. Has anyone do...

My Son's Hum-Vee

I just realized how awful the original subject sounds and have changed it. GIDave60 All, I'm a regular visitor to the Styrene Dreams forum, building figure kits, but was advised I'd be better off posting pictures of my Son's Hummer build up here. He is 7 years old. This is only the 2nd model he's ev...

Wolfie,
As always, you humble me.
What gets me is, I can understand how taking time would allow you to build a better kit, but you always manage to set world records! Beautiful execution in record time.
Bravo!

OK to Post Pics of Styrene Cars Here?

My son has seen me post some of my built kits on line and he's dying for me to post some pics of his. However, to date he's only built car models. Is it OK for me to post them to this forum (Styrene Dreams)? They are styrene kits, but they're not figures. I don't want to disappoint him, but figured ...
