Re: Code Name Big Thunder.
Awesome alternative narrative for the monster. Always thought there was so many things that could be done with him and this paint up turned out really amazing.

Oh, this is an awesome paint up. Didn't know that they were in the habit of bleaching their dreads. But cool idea that opens up so many possibilities.

Re: Jim Capone's Wednesday
Oh WOW, what a piece. Looks amazing and lifelike.
Nearly exactly the same pose as the one I have been sculpting on over the years... guess I should change mine to a vampire girl instead.
Just as a side note, is this kit still available?

Just saw this. Yeah, the old paint job wasn't bad, but man what an improvement. The paint on his face turned him from angry to anxious. Incredible.

Do you have any pictures of that? Would be interesting to see how you improved it.

That backdrop is beautifully made and painted. Really compliments the figure well.
I'm so happy I decided to sell this kit. I spent years looking at the primed kit on my shelf in my work room, just waiting to get painted. It deserved it and seeing it now proves it.

I am amazed. The cloth on both the Count and the curtain looks like cloth and I like the pale look to the skin and how the hair is done.

That looks amazing. Not easy to achieve a good gauze wrapping look, but you made it look real.
I don't think I've ever seen this kit before. Looks fantastic. What scale is it in?

Fantastic paint up and awesomely detailed base and accessories. Very well executed. The bandages actually look like real aged bandages. Pretty cool.

Re: Killer Kits' Chris Lee as Dracula!
I don't know whether this has any importance on how good the primer is with paints, but I remember I couldn't get the setting on the compressor right, so the air flow wasn't optimal and it mostly misted the primer onto the model instead of a normal solid layer. I've never been able to replicate that...

Re: Killer Kits' Chris Lee as Dracula!
Amazing paint up. I think I may have figured out what primer I used on the kit. It was back when my dad was still alive, so it makes sense that I used one he had bought. I still have it. It's called PPG Kondar 1K Primer A670. I'm pretty sure this is the brand I used, as I primed a lot of kits at the...

Well, you can always excuse Jurassic Park with the creatures being genetically spliced with other animals.

Re: shiny black finish
When I was doing gloss black I always sprayed matt black Humbrol paint as that covers better than their gloss and then I'd spray that with clear gloss coat and it would be shiny and easy to handle without any issues, compared to gloss black that was easy to ruin.

Re: Soft Foam Filled Endoskull
Had a little fun painting the teeth. Not perfect, but that's okay for this piece. Have been thinking of trying to get someone to make lightweight and thin casts of the eyes, temple inserts and jaw pistons to finish the piece up nicely. Anyway... here's a picture of my miserable painting attempt. htt...
