Re: Joker /Harley Quinn Toxic waste diorama

That was built by SuperElvis, Tony Philips. I don't think Tony posts here any longer, but you could try a private message in case it notifies him through his email like mine does.

Re: Remember Tom Parker?

I barely knew Tom since i rarely post on here, but I will always remember something from my first trip to Wonderfest. I had purchased an Adam West replacement head for the old Aurora kit from Tom at the show. That was all I asked for and all I expected. The next day Tom hunted me down in the dealers...

Re: Post your X-O FActo kits

I've got 3 or 4 XO kits but I've only built one so far--Marta the Orion Slave. At some point I need to get pics of it (as well as several other projects from the past few years).

I wish you'd been there this year, Todd. It was the first time in 7 years that I was able to attend. I had your Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come in the contest...it might have helped you sell a few.

I saw this at the show and was sorely tempted to get one but I couldn't quite fit it in after my earlier purchases. Ugh, I hate being on a budget at WF.

Re: What did everyone get? Wonderfest Haul 2018

This was my first time back at WF in something like 7 years. I didn't talk to many Clubhousers and frankly I doubt many recognized me. lol Only got a few things due to a limited budget: Denizen's of Zo Lion Willy Wonka bust (a one-off hollow cast he had behind the table) 1:4 scale 3/4 figure of Coun...

Re: R.I.P. Mr. Tom Parker

Life has kept me away from here for some time now, so I only just found this announcement. I'm stunned, and numb from the news. I met Tom 15 years ago at my first Wonderfest. The energy and enthusiasm left a palpable aura around him. Even though that meeting lasted only a couple minutes, it has rema...

Re: May finally make the HDTV plunge, could use advice

Hey Todd, I haven't really kept up on all the newer HDTV info but I'll tell you what I know. HDTV comes in a few forms: Plasma, LCD and LED. Plasma sets are getting hard to find (perhaps a dying version?) but generally give the deepest blacks and richest colors. They tend to be heavy and generate a ...

Re: TOS Cylon Centurion M Baldwin sculpt completed

It's been years since I built this kit. I thought I'd used the straighter leg for the wires but, looking at the pics on my build, I realized I used the same leg as you. Even with the sharper bangle at the knee it was easier due to the leg being separate. I did mine in a gold tone.

Nicely done!

It looks like you ran the wires up the other leg from the one I used. I built this kit years ago when Charlie Dunton still owned the molds.

How about these: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/glassornaments.html They're 2 5/8 inches. But because its a globe you might be able to achieve the correct fit by adjusting where you make your cut. Just Google "clear glass globes 2.5 inch diameter" and you'll get a few options That is preci...

Re: Airbrush and compressor question

While I've never used the brand, the Iwata airbrush you were given is an excellent way to start. Airbrushes come in single-action and double-action styles and both are useful in this hobby. Single-action is easier to learn and maintain due to the simpler operation (push the trigger for the air to fl...

Re: Ebenezer Scrooge and Jacob Marley Christmas 2015

All the holiday stuff is really getting in the way of me putting any serious work into this build right now. I've started some seam cleanup, but that's about all. I've been toying with some ideas on how to give the translucent ghost an aura but that's still in the very early stages. it looks like De...

Re: Ebenezer Scrooge and Jacob Marley Christmas 2015

Are you going to pinstripe his Night shirt again? I still have the tape I used to mask the pinstriping from last time...so, if the paint is still good, yes I will. The big challenge this time is assembling Marley without pins showing through the translucent resin and still supporting him. Well, tha...

Nicely done.

Re: polar lights new mummy kit ?

I agree with Ignatz that the black wash would be too dark. I tend to use a raw umber or a raw umber/black mix and use it more as a glaze than a true wash. After wiping away the excess, that will tend to stain the surface as well as get into the crevasses, evening out the transition from one area to ...
