Re: Aves
I've used a variety of things - Aves Epoxy Sculpt, Bondo, Magic Sculpt, Milliput. They've all got their uses. I like Milliput for sculpting fine detail, but it's probably my least favorite seam filler. Even though you can smooth it with a wet fingertip, it's fairly dense and always seems to leave an...

Re: Crowne Plaza info
How did you do it?! I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for the reminder. I was thinking about this today at work, but as usually, completely slipped my mind once I got home. My reservation is now booked as well. Though it was a bit needlessly complicated this time. Had to figure out how to change it f...

Sorry to hear your misfortune, but please keep us posted on The Seed People :) The Seed People is comin' - no worries! Right now, we're just experiencing a timing crisis as much as anything. With a son graduating High School and celebrating his 18th birthday and a daughter getting married - and bot...

Wonderfest Dealer Table - $200
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Phil and I regretfully find ourselves with a dealer table at Wonderfest that we're just not going to be able to use. I'd hate to see it go to waste - and worse yet, I'd hate to lose all the $$ we have in it. We're offering it up for $200 - so, if someone's lo...

Re: Sotar 20/20 questions
There's no lid available for the paint cup - which is just about the only thing I haven't liked about my Sotar. I got mine at Kitbuilders University a few years back, and I've used the hell out of it since. The needles are cheap and it's fairly easy to clean. @Indiana - if you're having trouble with...

Re: Hospital IV bag or bottle
Actually, I think the bulb end of that pipette would work really well. Id have to fabricate some kind of fitting, where the tube attaches, but that wouldn't be too hard.
Now I just have to find one.
The fiber optic is an awesome idea!
Thanks!

Hospital IV bag or bottle
I need to come up with a 1/6 or 1/8 scale hospital IV. My plan is to fabricate an IV stand out of wire, but the IV line and the bag/bottle are problematic. For the tubing - RadioShack has transparent shrink insulation for repairing wiring. It's pretty tiny, but it's not very flexible. Any other idea...

Re: New Wonderfest site and guest to be launched today
If you actually click on "Upcoming Show" in the menu, it takes you to a specific page that talks about the theme. It is a little confusing, since it looks like it's just a header for a drop-down menu.

Re: New Wonderfest site and guest to be launched today
From the site: "This year's theme centers on the year 1982. Even if you weren't born yet, you've felt the impact of an unusually high number of great movies." Regarding Hellboy - I believe they're just using one of the gold medal winners from last year, "Codename: Hellboy", to ad...

Re: The Dark Crystal 1982 CASTLE SKEKSIS by elmen
This is a beautiful sculpt and paint-up. I posted in this thread back in '09 and noted the unfortunate lack of Dark Crystal kits out there. That fact and this sculpt inspired me to produce a kit for other Dark Crystal fans, so if you weren't already aware, please be sure to check out the Chamberlain...

Re: Reflections on Wonderfest as a first time visitor
As to Dealer's Room B. I love it. I think they are finally finding a great use for it. By having the exhibits, guests and artists in there. Most who I have talked to in that room, prefer it in there. It is quieter, not nearly as hectic. Which leads to actually being able to talk to the fans. What I...

Re: Demos?
What is the incentive to actually attend a demo if you can watch a video instead? Sure, we all have things we'd rather do and people we want to hang with, but guys like Jason Walker and Dan Colonna and Joe Nejberger and Mike Wallace and Dave Fisher take time out of their day and their own experienc...

Re: Reflections on Wonderfest as a first time visitor
And the security I had a problem with was not in the model room but in the dealer room & throughout the hotel. Maybe I'm paranoid, but the stink eye I got from one of them was almost like he had pure disgust for those in attendance and the whole hobby. And it wasn't just one glance I noticed. I...
