Re: Nosferatu 2024

I understand that it's almost always a superior experience to watch a movie in a theater as opposed to at home on television -- assuming those sharing the theater with you are decent human beings -- I am baffled by filmmakers who don't keep the small screen in mind. Because really, where is the film...

Re: Rest in piece Todd Carolan

Nice guy, very talented. I communicated with him a few times over the years and found him engaging. He'd been in a bad place the last couple years or so since the death of his son. The intro on his Facebook profile, which I presume was written by his widow, reads "was born, was living, currentl...

Re: Rest in Peace, ROBERT TROCH

I think I've figured out that Robert was a Clubhouse member for 20 years. His name here was plyometrics and he was occasionally active until late this summer.

Rest in peace TERRY REYNOLDS of IDC Models

Every time I see news of the passing of a member of our hobby community, I want to see it shared at the Clubhouse. In many ways, this remains for me the heart and soul of the garage-kit hobby. And so, even though I never knew him myself, I think it's important that the folks here know about the pass...

Rest in peace, DAN COLONNA, a longtime part of our community

Dan was well-known in our community, and used to be active at the Clubhouse as dcolonna. He used to write for Amazing Figure Modeler . He died Sept. 18, according to a posting on the Facebook page We Love Dan Colonna. https://scontent-den2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/460623513_478472828511155_56734...

Rest in peace JOHN GRAZIANO, Ripley's Believe It Or Not and Monarch artist

John was an active member of our hobby community who apparently died over the weekend, based on what I see on Facebook. He did artwork for Monarch and was known for Ripley's Believe It Or Not.

I don't know if he was ever a Clubhouse member.

Rest in peace DWAYNE PINKNEY. I think he was "StyreneDude."

News is spreading on Facebook that Dwayne died suddenly, apparently within the past day since he was posting there yesterday morning. I'm not certain, but I believe he used to be active at the Clubhouse as StyreneDude. I enjoyed my dealings with Dwayne, who suggested two of the kits coming soon from...

Re: GODZILLA X KONG: The New Empire

I put my brain in a jar and watched Godzilla X Kong over the weekend. It was pretty much what I expected, fun in its way but largely forgettable. Like the films before it, I doubt I'll ever feel a desire to watch it again but I don't regret seeing it once.

I'm also on board with an Alien sequel that forgets everything after Aliens. HATED Alien 3 so much it still casts an evil shadow over everything that followed.

Re: Movies you WOULD like to see remade.....

I think a lot of the classic B-movie monster films that depended heavily on makeup or special effects would work well as remakes. Look how well it worked out 42 years ago when John Carpenter remade The Thing , a superior film that stands on its own, not taking anything away from the original. Same g...

Neat pieces, nicely photographed This is the kind of stuff I particularly enjoy about our hobby.

Didn't our buddy Rick Evans sculpt many of those bases?
