Thanks Foo fighter! It wasn't that bad really. I figured I would break bits but never broke a one. Took a few nights to drill them but that's just because life gets in the way of having fun! I believe Mike is still selling these. Look him up on FB or contact him thru the RPF forum.

A few more lighting tests. Starting to look good! Also, a picture on how I did the engine lights.

Engine lights. Tamiya paint cap, 12 LEDs in total. It has 8 flickering blues and 4 steady whites in the center.

She's almost ready for paint!

Looks terrific Robiwon. Is this a lighting kit that you purchased or did you design your own? Forgive me if you have mentioned this earlier in the thread.

Built by me. Well, that's sound more complicated than it really was. All I did was order 50 white LEDs pre-wired for 9v and 20 blue flickering LEDs pre-wired for 9v from China for under $15 total. Because each had it's own resistor all I had to do was solder all the negatives together and all the positives together. That's it, no fancy circuit boards, no programming miniature computers, etc.

This is the only circuit board, and it is for the runway lights in the hangars. You can see it flashing away on the table in the video.

I forgot to ask but where did you buy your LED stuff? Do you have a particular vendor or source of LED parts you would recommend? I like the sound of pre-wired LEDs.

No one source really. I just search for what I need on eBay, check the sellers rating and feedback and go from there. The runway board I got from Bakkatronics. However, it fried just before I had to seal the ship up. No time to replace it before WonderFest so no runway lights. I was really ticked off!!!!

On a brighter note...

Three days until WonderFest...

In memeory of the creator of Battlestar Galactica, Glen A. Larson, and other memorable shows from the 70-80's, I named this ship the Battlestar Larson. Glen passed away Nov. 14th 2014.
