Styrene Dreaming

#1 Post by spock »

Call it me a Styrene Dreamer, but I would love to see one of the big new companies do something below, much in the way they did the Stooges, in individual pieces until they form a set.
Yes, I know I'm an old fool looking to the past, but you can let me dream.

I've been hoping the same thing for a loooooong time as well... I'd kill to have the entire "original" X-Men as kits as well as "Kirby" versions
of the "original" Avengers + Hawkeye!

But I think we are in a very, very, very small group my friend.... Like just the two of us!

That Golden Age Supes is fantastic. Actually nothing here I wouldn't consider buying. :superlogo:

The original Action Comics cover is iconic. I can't believe it has never been done before.
Scored Al Reborio's Lurch and It. Thanks to Joe "The Coop"

My guess is that it has been suggested/requested in the past, but DC rejected it for whatever reason. Both DC and Marvel seem to be very particular when it comes to licensing their properties, and appear to consider model kits to be the bottom of the merchandising food chain.

If someone were to convince them, I think a "historic" line of kits featuring their now iconic superheroes like Batman, Superman, the Hulk, Spiderman, etc., sculpted as they were first seen in each of their respective comic book series' could be quite interesting. Unfortunately, they'd probably consider such a venture as having "limited appeal" (i.e., wouldn't sell enough units to recover their investment or turn a profit).
The older I get, the better it was.

Good calls all Harry. Anything interlocking throws my switch. Would be awesome a swell If the boxes matched like the Moebius Spidey and Green Goblin. Whoever did the what-if FF boxes did the same thing. 8)

I'd buy all of those, as well. I love superhero kits, and would enjoy seeing them released in super groups, such as the X-Men, JLA, etc.

Funny you should mention that because I scored a Riddler kit from Amazon last night. But it's (Questionable) as the finish date on this kit has been dragging along for well over a year. But it says the arrival date is May 31st. :?

EDIT: Checked Amazon and it says preparing for shipment. Also I got the last one but more will be in stock by June 1st.
