New or reissued styrene figures coming, 2018 and beyond?

#1 Post by Todd P. »

The new Moebius Grim Reaper is great fun, possibly my favorite figure kit from the company. I kinda wonder if it also indicates that Moebius is going to steer away from high-dollar licenses, but I'm good with it if the kits are of this quality.

I wonder what all's coming from the styrene companies, figure-wise. Here's what I know:

Moebius
-- Fly.
-- Joker.
-- Batgirl.
-- Lynda Carter Wonder Woman.
-- Curse of the Werewolf (when Mike Hill can make time for it. I'm not holding my breath given how much attention he's gotten for his wonderful work on The Shape of Water).

Round 2
-- In the Pinch of Peril, repop of the MPC Fate of the Mutineers. Under the Lindberg banner.
-- Dismay Be the End, repop of the MPC Condemned to Chains Forever. Under the Lindberg banner.

And that's about all I know. Nothing from Atlantis, nothing under the Polar Lights banner. Maybe another Monsters of the Movies Metaluna Mutant-type surprise will come up, but I'll be just as surprised as anyone if it does.

Can anyone enlighten me about other possibilities in the works?

Great topic!

You listed everything I know about.
I hope there is more on the horizon. A lot of the guys play things close to the vest. Like Atlantis and Pegasus.
And I don't think Revell says anything before the kits are ready for release.

I figure there's a chance Atlantis will find something else to repop. Maybe Captain Kidd will be worth another look with the Pirates of the Caribbean getting back on the market. Pegasus has a resin Dracula coming, but I don't know if it plans any more solid vinyl kits, much less styrene.

Revell pretty much means Aurora repops. Who knows, maybe some long-lost tooling will turn up. Honestly, though, I wouldn't get real excited about a JFK reissue.

Thought for a little while Dencomm might try something else but haven't heard anything new. I wonder how well the Monster Scenes Dungeon and Animal Pit went over.

I would LOVE to see them do the Captain Kidd kit. It would definitely help to fill
this sudden renewed interest in Pirate kits. And Round 2/Lindberg can keep spitting
out those Pirates of the Caribbean repops all year long as far as I'm concerned. lol

Revell is more than welcome to reissue the Brother Rat Fink kit, since it's the only one
that they seem to keep 'avoiding'.....(Molds are still around. Go ask the Lodela department.)

And if anyone still wants to take on the task of reissuing/remastering the two Aurora
'Castle Creatures', (Vampire and Frog), I'd be in for several copies of each. lol

So, yeah, as much as I love resin, styrene is still my number one go-to. Keep 'em coming....

I'm hoping that Pegasus does a few more of the classics movie spaceships. Keeping my fingers crossed they do a Invasion Of The Saucermen spaceship. I would love it if there were a model of the Earth Vs Flying Saucers alien in his spacesuit. That would be a great kit. But so far I haven't heard anything about any new spaceship kit.

I thought the Pegasus Christopher Lee Dracula and Chaney Phantom Of The Opera kits were going to be vinyl like the War of The Worlds aliens?

I wonder what kind of resin they will use?
I guess the cost doing it vinyl would cost too much..

I just saw that CultTVMan showed the boxart of the Joker yesterday. Looks good. I wonder if they will have Cesar Romero's mustache sculpted in for us to paint over? ;)
