Dracula / box art head sculpt

#1 Post by Dale Stringer »

Been away for a bit, but I'm back to building styrene kits again. :D Trying out an old stashed Monogram Drac with one of Todd's Box Art head sculpts - working the figure now - will start the base soon.....There are parts of a Phantom kit in this also...the cape makes it hard to do much repositioning...

This turned out really well - you almost can't tell it's a Monogram kit. The base really adds to it.

Your painting scheme is excellent, I really love the contrasts. It's to bad the head sculpt came out more oval rather than roundish, I'm focusing on Bela but keep seeing Maxwell Smart!!

I agree - But I don't think its head sculpt, more like Dale's painting... :rolf:
Anyway, I repainted the eyes and eyebrows, setting them a bit further apart as much as I could..and angled the head down in his collar to reduce the length perception. It helped a little bit to get rid of the Maxwell Smart look

WOW! :o

That looks fantastic! Looks just like a painting, the way the figure fits perfectly with the backdrop.
The way the lighting is painted on the kit.
Just amazing.

Thank you so much for sharing this.
