Dark Shadow nameplates??

#1 Post by BobbysMonsterModels »

Did anyone ever make custom nameplates for the Dark Shadows' Barnabas and Werewolf styrene models?
I'm working on them now. I was just wondering...

I am interested too. I'd like to have one that just says Dark Shadows.

That works for me as well.
I've seen the replacement heads, but I'd really love an identifier on the model so folks don't ask.
On a side note, I'm not liking the clothing textures on these two models, LOL.

Well, Barnabas doesn't even really have any texture.
I gave mine some with paint.
Mainly by sponging acrylic paint on it.

The werewolf, I assume is wearing some kind of sweater from the texture on the kit. So I am just trying to run with that, but deciding on color took me forever.

I am getting close to the finish line on mine, and have also painted the glow heads, as I want them to be interchangeable. I was thinking if I had a nameplate, I could mount it on a small block of wood the same size and drill out holes to hold the extra heads.

Ha. I'm doing a blue shirt as well. I went looking for pics of the werewolf online from the show. There was no way I was painting "plaid". The only solid shirt pic I found was light blue...with black pants. I'm not sure which color pants I am doing yet. I'm working on the werewolf first. Barnabas is all glued, sanded and primed. He's next.

Sorry to hijack and inject my two cents worth but I was working on some Dark Shadows stuff for Mr. Tom Parker not long before he passed. He sent a couple of name plates to me with head sculpts…One was borderless. I don’t think he ever released them so I don’t know they’re whereabouts…some sample pics of the bordered and none bordered below when I was painting odds and ends for him…somebody managed the plaid shirt on the werewolf, but I can’t recollect who it was..that one was in the old museum..these photos are a good +6-7 years old :(

Pretty sure there were 3 nameplates.
At least that is what Tom said in his post over at UMA back in the day.
The one with the boarder is the one I like the most, but knew it was OOP. Was hoping someone else had made something similar, or had purchased Tom's molds.

As for the one who did the plaid, pretty sure that was what's-his-name from Japan.
He always does elaborate and jaw dropping paint jobs.

Yeah you’re right, Trev. On both. Dunno if anyone got those molds or not…
