Duel With Death...

#1 Post by Glusniffer »

Aka Ghost of the Treasure Guard. Never had this one as a kid but now that I do its probably my new fave because of all the detail. Anyhoos, remember when the Goonies found One Eyed Willie's skeleton and treasure? I think this kit kinda tells a part of Willies story. :wink:

Also there's an unintentional reference to a popular super hero here that I noticed after the fact. Name him and receive an imaginary beer. :beer:

Holy crap man!
You packed in so much detail on this one.
That bandanna is insane. As is the trim on the coat. Those ruffles look real.
I love the specks of sand on the treasure chest, and the end of the shovel.
Did you add some small beads as gems in the chest also?
To go along with that gold chain you added.

Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?

Yep! I have a box full of baubles and bling I've found over the years. The bandana is the decal from the raft and some is hand painted for Willie. His hero's have always been pirates. :wink:
The sand effect was a happy little accident. I went to save my work and shot it with dullcoat without shaking the can. I was major pissed at myself then realized it looked pretty cool. I spent a whole month trying to repeat it to no avail.
But yeah, fun kit to paint! Cheers mates! :beer:

I love it when accidents work out.

And yeah, trying to repeat it rarely works :)
