What to do when you break a claw off your Creature...

#1 Post by BobbysMonsterModels »

...and you can't find it anywhere. Ugh!

I'm refurbishing the Aurora Creature. I built him 21 years ago, when I was dating someone that was taking up alot of my time. LOL, they didn't understand my love for styrene monsters. I didn't feel like I put my "all" into painting it. Anyway, I had not bothered to sand all the seams on his claws, so I made them very sharp the other night, and made the mistake of trying to stand him up, and he fell over and a claw snapped off and disappeared. I looked everywhere for it. It's gone.

I can't bear to look at him with a missing claw.
What should I did to remedy this? What's the best way to repair it, so it looks good again?

Simplest thing is to shape one from a little Aves Apoxie sculpt. It'll take about 10 seconds.

You can add a short pin for support (or even glue a short thread to the "finger" tip for the Aves to cling to while it cures) but it probably won't matter at Aurora scale.

The Aves will dry rock-hard overnight. Never fails.

Just a suggestion.

Well, I don't have Aves, but I do have Milliput.
I guess I have to make sure it's nice and wet.
Ugh, a sculptor I am not.

The claw is NOT gone. It just hasn't been found yet. Keep looking - it's there.

A piece of sprue cut and sanded to shape. The fact that it's also styrene makes it easy to glue.

And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?

Milliput will work fine you may want to drill a small hole and cut a small wire and glue it in like what Derek said ..let it harden cut it to length then milliliput it …. You can do it
