Doctor Who Season 10 - started Sat 15th April 2017

#1 Post by Heavy Metal Spike »

Surprised no-one has started a thread yet.

Thought I was going to HATE the new lass - but she's really cool!

  • EPISODE 1 (last weeks) was OK - but went the way of most Moffat scripts and I've already forgotten it (lol).

    EPISODE 2 (tonights) was good fun though . . . . . no . . . . . HONESTLY !!!!! :D :bgrin: (keep smiling!)

I haven't seen last night's yet. Was out to dinner with friends.
But I enjoyed the premier. Though you are right, it is pretty forgettable.

Yeah, didn't realize it was back on... luckily they replayed 'The Pilot' at 7:30
and was able to catch up.

Liked that one better than the emo robots...

Warming up to Billy... she has a weird looking face though but the 2 of them
work off each other nicely. (they can do away with that bald jerk though).

My cable company blows chunks. BBC American only shows up sporadically and never when there are programs I want to watch. Just a black screen for a few seconds the "temporarily off the air"

Chiller disappeared completely, a notice that they no longer carry its programing.

If SCI Fi channel goes I'm getting a booster antenna and canceling my cable contract entirely. In fact if Scy Fy programs don't improve greatly this summer I'm canceling my contract anyway. I find much better films online than I find on the premium channels these days.

ep3... watched it, but it was a plot line they've done, oh, about 5000
times in the past.

Still running behind.
But I did finally catch the first episode of Class.
A little choppy, but I think I can enjoy this series if it finds it's legs.

Who do you think the Doctor has locked up? Someone who plays the piano...

S10E04 - enjoyable enough to watch - but I can't help thinking that (per quite a lot from the last few series) we get lots of cool & mysterious build-up followed by a "meh" ending/resolution/explanation.

This weeks reminded me of an old "Outer Limits" episode.

    • My guesses:
      • 1) Missy.
        2) Steven Moffat.
        3) Somebody else entirely.

I quite enjoyed the episode. I think I may tend to be a little too easy on the show. It's entertaining and I enjoy it. And we should never forget that it's also geared toward kids.

very true John, far to many especially in the US spend far to much time looking for depth, and meaning in the programme

the truth is there isnt any depth never will be indeed never was meant to be, first and foremost its a programme screened early Saturday evenings here before the youngsters go to bed,

all the female leads throughout the programmes history have been purely to keep dads interested as they watch with the kids mostly pre to young teens, by rights blokes our age shouldn't be watching with out our grand kids,

we have our own stuff leave the doctor for the kids he is theres after all.

(edited for my over salted critic, and ex seadog Buc.)

S10E05 – “Oxygen” . . . what an amazing combination of really clever ideas + totally frikkin’ dumb plotholes + stupidity  #-o

Lots of awesome one-liners as always (best bits of this episode) – many lols were had by all :bgrin:

LOVE the way Capaldi delivers his lines – he’s totally become fave Doctor #2 (after Tennant). Ms. Mackie continues to grow on me too - very emotive/effective facial expressions.

Wish the fat bald dude was in Birmingham – I’ve a few friends that would drop by (and not to help buy crisps).

PS: Who else googled “average breaths per minute”? :)

"can we dump this fat, bald dude already"
Dont hold your breath Buc, he is a very popular well known comedy actor over here
he was hugely sucsesful in little Britain a BBC sketch show,
unfortunately kids seem to like him, so your stuck with him shippy.

Oxygen was really solid. I don't get the Matt Lucas hate here. Lucas has done some good work in his career, and his performance this season has been very restrained. It's not like he's mugging for the camera as Bubbles Deville or anything.
The things you own end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything that you're free to do anything.
