Daredevil (esp. season 2), Luke Cage and Jessica Jones were great series (Iron Fist was not so great) and with Sigourney Weaver as the "bad guy" I'll happily watch this.

I agree completely. Thoroughly enjoyed the other three but find Iron Fist a bit of a drag, I don't think I'll finish it before Defenders hits.

I'm generally not a huge fan of these, but Daredevil was so well done and D'Onofrio outstanding as Kingpin I got hooked. With Ritter and Tennant, I couldn't resist Jessica Jones which led to curiosity regarding Luke Cage (I think the weakest of the three because it ran out of story IMO).

Iron Fist started strong but went off the rails too fast to hold my interests. I hope the character is better in the group.
Plausible deniability.

I love DD, haven't watched any of the others yet (not enough hours in the day for everything I would like to do)
But I will check this out (even if it isn't the Defenders I remember fondly)

The original DEFENDERS incarnations are probably never likely to make it under the Netflix banner - the CGI needed for Hulk, Namor & Dr. Strange would have challenged their budget a bit :)

Plus look how they politically-adapted "Valkyrie" in the upcoming Thor movie

Still, the universe/setting these characters are living in works really well, and the original "larger than life" members wouldn't fit into it - so it's all good.

Namor! That's who's missing from the Marvel movies. I wonder if anything's in the works.

Apparently THE most complicated character to get to the movie stage because of confusion and resulting litigation over licence rights.

Missed the last few eps of Iron Fist and all of Jessica, but this looks to be a good watch!

First season of Jessica Jones is worth chasing down (Ritter AND Tennant are amazing!) - it's a really clever plot with lots of twists and turns - like a "real life" chess game.

I understand you skipping the last few IF's though. Certainly the weakest of them all so far.

E01 - slow build with the usual mix of awesome acting, cinematography, direction et-al.

By the end of E02 - yeah - loving it :D

Also came to a few early conclusions:
  • 1) Luke Cage likes putting it about a bit (although he had been in prison I guess).
    2) Simone Missick (Misty Knight) is absolutely GORGEOUS!
    3) Danny Rand's character was used better in the opening scene of E01 and closing scene of E02 than in all of "Iron Fist".
Hope the next 6 episodes are up to this standard. :hot:

(* there was ONE hiccup I didn't follow in E02 with Jessica - I'll ask about that when more of you have watched it *)

3episodes in and totally enjoying this dysfunctional family of super heros
First 2 episodes were used to introduce all main characters and supporting cast and build the story arc.
Third episode kicked it into gear

We've just finished it off - REALLY enjoyed it.

A few bits of bad editing (like - REALLY people ?!?!?), some occasional "out of character" moments, and a couple of fight scenes that reminded me of Xena & Hercules

But other than that - tick VG :D

Honorable mention - the opening credits & music were the best so far of any of these NETFLIX shows.

Bottom line - WELL worth watching - highly recommended :thumb2:

      • (* next up - "The Punisher" :) *)

I thought the pacing was really good - the individual series have almost uniformly suffered from filler episodes, but this was tight and moved briskly towards the finish line. Some of the fight scenes weren't as well shot or choreographed as they could have been, but it was a solid series.
The things you own end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything that you're free to do anything.
