S01E14 - "The War Without, The War Within" . . . . .

With only ONE more episode until the season finale, I'd guessed this would be a "set the stage" job.

That's likely why this was a lot slower than all of the recent instalments. Probably the second-weakest of the season, but still good.

I just KNOW next weeks is gonna KILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hot:

So where can this be seen? Is it the CBS streaming channel listed in my Roku channel line-up?

Depends where you live.

"Pull a Google" with the show name and your geographical area - that should give you a few options (some more legitimate than others).

S01E15 - "Will You Take My Hand?" . . . . .

A massive letdown and anti-climax. Not to mention really awful/stupid/unbelievable/insulting plot resolutions.

Easily the worst episode of the season.

Saved only by a few old friends . . . one an actor, the others not :)

A lot to love in this show, way better than the first season of the next gen. Hard to comment without giving away too much but i liked the last episode flawed as it was.

So I subscribed to CBS All Access & watched all 15 episodes. Excellent new series, looking forward to more episodes.

Official Season 2 trailer out - makes the whole thing look very "meh" - and I'm already missing my favourite character . . .

Not sure how many people here have access to this OR are actually still interested in it . . . but regardless . . . catch-up time.

First – the FOUR “Short Trek” episodes (each is 15-18 mins long) that aired between the 1st and 2nd season.

They apparently were designed to give us further introduction to some of the characters/stories due to crop up in Season 2.

I have to say that these were MUCH better (IMO) than the majority of the Season 2 episodes so far. Amazing in every respect.

S02E00(a) - "Runaway”

Transmitted October 4th 2018.

Focused on “Tilly” and a new (nicely thought out) character. Tilly is growing on me. Lovely actress, playing an unusual character, and she really gets to “spread her wings” this season.

S02E00(b) - "Calypso”

Transmitted November 8th 2018.

Interesting in all sorts of ways.

No idea how the main character will fit into future episodes, but it was a REALLY engaging story (starring a great actor) that definitely left you wanting to know more.

Some amazing effects work here too (that’s true for everything in both seasons though!)

S02E00(c) - "The Brightest Star”

Transmitted December 6th 2018.

Loved this episode. Some great background for Saru’s character that is further examined in the best (at this point) episode of Season 2 . . . S02E06 / “The Sounds Of Thunder”.

S02E00(d) - "The Escape Artist”

Transmitted January 3rd 2019.

And they saved the best for last. Harry Mudd once again, and OMG is it good. The ending is SO clever (and brings back great memories of the original Star Trek).

Yeah - I read this earlier today - https://www.comingsoon.net/tv/news/1044 ... showrunner

I guess I'm happy about that - I'd hate to see it cancelled when it has so many wonderful characters and such potential . . .
      • . . . BUT . . .
          • . . . this season has been GREAT / DISAPPOINTING in equal measures for me so far. Loved the "short treks" (per my previous post), but decidedly "meh" about parts of the 1st 5 episodes of season 2 (per a post I STILL haven't got round to yet  ).

Just watched last weeks (S02E08 - "If Memory Serves") - SUPERB episode harkening back to TOS with more overlap than we've seen so far.

Not going to dive into that any more though until I summarise the 7 from previous weeks.

Excellent episode. Loved the tie-in to TOS. Didn't care much for the 're-constitution' of the doctor from the mycelial network however.
