PICARD!!!!

#1 Post by LOBOREX »

Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be! -Puck

I hope it's fun. Next Generation went off the air 24 years ago, so we're almost to the time of the future segment of the series finale, All Good Things. I wonder if the new show will in any way reflect the world we saw there.

I'm not seeing anything saying where the show will be set, but I presume Picard won't be in command of the Enterprise anymore. I'd enjoy seeing the ship again, though, as well as some of his old subordinates. Maybe they can clean up some of what went wrong with the last two NextGen movies.

I still won't subscribe to All Access, but I'll pick it up on home video someday.

The benefits of working out and Harley street doctors :D

Joking aside - I REALLY admire the way he has looked after himself - and he's a damn nice bloke to boot (geez these last 6 weeks back in the UK have affected my vernacular).

I had a pint of "Swift Nick" in the Okeover Arms in Ashbourne/Mapleton yesterday - and rather nice it was too! (so was the food - gammon & pineapple!) :)

First pint of proper British bitter in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

The mechanical heart and Borg Implants helped.

I'd like to see Picard as a civilian staying as far away from the Federation as possible. Perhaps running a small fleet of merchant ships, some for hire by scientific expeditions. Getting by on luck and guile and loving it.

An exiled Feringi accountant he has to keep an eye on and perhaps a android not as sophisticated as Data. One of Harry Mudd's androids perhaps that Data upgraded and sent to Picard to learn humanity. A Fembot that makes things a bit uncomfortable for the old gentleman at times.

I might pass on it.. I enjoy how it was.. stuck in my ways.
The term you can't go home again comes to mind.
Nostalgia can be a bad thing, especially when you are led by it.

You have to keep an open mind!! The past is back there - plus Patrick Stewart is always good in whatever he does.

Can't help but wonder if Brent Spiner's exit from Supergirl may be connected to this - time will tell :)

The final fate of Data and introduction of B-4 may be the biggest mess that needs to be cleaned up from the NextGen movies. I hope they try.
