Yeah - Daenerys is Jon's Aunt.Buc Wheat wrote: . . . the relation btwn John and Daenerys. Is John her nephew? cousin?
It's like one of those 1970's/80's "seduced by the hot Aunt" porn scripts all over again (although Emilia Clarke isn't my type).

Lots of great moments and scenes in this one.
Sansa actually smiled. And she was pretty civil with Dani there for a bit. Until she started in about the North again.
Gotta give her credit, at least she is consistent.
Jon told Dani who he is. I was waiting for him to tell her he had no interest in the the throne. But he didn't. Does that mean he does want to be the king?
Nice bit with Tyrion and Jamie. When Tyrion said he wished father was there to see his 2 sons ready to fight to save Winterfell. That was funny.
Hopefully now, he will get his head out of his ass and come up with some amazing strategy that helps save the day. Now that he isn't working against his family, and has a show of support from Dani (thanks to Jorah)
I was hoping for more between Arya and the Hound. But that is more wishful thinking than anything else.
As for Arya's love scene. I thought it was handled rather well.
The actress is 22 and the character is 18, so that wasn't a thing.
The actress also got to decide just how much to show, or not show. And while there was some skin, there really wasn't that much.
As for the scenes itself, I was glad it happened. Because it showed us even more of Arya as a normal human being. Not just the killing machine she was before getting back to Winterfell.
Being home, with her family, has brought back some of her humanity, and has shown if she survives, it will be possible for her to have something close to a normal life going forward.
I fear we have seen the last of many characters once this battle is over.
This episode closed a lot of loops and makes things very tidy for culling the cast.
I think Brienne is done. There is nothing else for her character to accomplish now that she is a knight.
Jamie is probably done as well. He has been redeemed. He will probably die after fulfilling some crucial role during the battle. That is the impression I got after the talk with Bran.
Grey Worm and Missandei are both probably done as well.
Theon has also come full circle, and I can see him dying while protecting Bran.
I am not optimistic on Jorah's odds either.
Also, not sure about The Hound. As much as I hope he lives so we can see him face off against his brother, he could also die in the upcoming battle.
The upcoming battle is going to be epic!
It is also going to be heart-wrenching.

Trevor, my friend, that is a COLOSSAL UNDERSTATEMENT - I, like you and so many others, agree with your prediction - I'd say 40% of the regular cast will buy the kingdom this Sunday night. The upcoming battle is going to be epic!
It is also going to be heart-wrenching.
Just PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSE
DON'T BE DAVOS OR JON!!!! OR TYRION OR SAM!!!!

What about Tyrion's comment that he thinks "we'll all live?" Maybe the writers have a surprise for us??

I think that is nothing more than wishful thinking.
I heard another theory today. Really has me wondering too, as it makes a lot of sense.
Just how safe is it going to be in the crypts?
The Night King can reanimate the dead, the crypts are kind full of dead people.
Wondering if that is what is meant in the trailer when Dani says "the dead are already here"

I had an idea the other day - maybe one of the dragons melts it down - symbolic destruction of past problems - and there will be a governmental elected body to rule after that.barad_dur wrote:So who do you think ends up on the throne at the end ?
As long as it doesn't do the crap job most modern institutions do it'll do just fine
Of course - we still have the "Elmo" option

I don't really know who it will be.
I know I have thoughts on who it won't be.
I don't see it being Jon, Dani, or Cersi.
Too obvious, so I think all 3 end up dead.
I think Sansa, if she lives, will remain in the north as the Lady of Winterfell. (maybe with her husband Tyrion)
Honestly, I would like to see either Bronn or Podrick end up on the throne.

S08E03 - "The Long Night"
K - I'm getting too old for this . . . April 2019 . . .
We lost the Dothraki, Edd, Beric Dondarrion, Lyanna Mormont, Theon, Jorah, Melisandre, and countless others . . . did we lose Ghost too?
As my Son pointed out - between The Avengers and Game Of Thrones - them Starks are tough/reliable SOB's!

Something I posted last year -
BTW, I AM binge-watching the entire previous episodes - I'm presently on Season 4 Episode 5...Well, it's a slow morning at the office, and I'm doing a quick cruise around the Clubhouse, and I had this spoilery - thought -
I didn't want to see any in-pro photos that gave anything away, as I want to be spoiler free as possible, but WinterIsComing.com posted some shots of the Winterfell set on fire last Friday, i want to say -
And I all of a sudden, after my Friday workout, began thinking about what I saw -
We all know Jon Snow's a Targaryen, right? He has the Blood Of The Dragon, right? So, if he happens to be in a situation back home at Winterfell, and he gets consumed by flame, wouldn't he emerge as unburnt and naked as his Aunt And Lover Danerys (ewwww) and that MIGHT tip him off (if Sam and Bran hadn't told him by then) about his TRUE heritage, as well as Danerys.
My guess that scene, and mark it down, fellow Westerosi Nerds, it's gonna happen, will take place at the end of either episode 1 or 2. Gotta. Just Gotta.
Thoughts?
Too early??
Should I go back to binge-watching Season 1-7 again???
ALSO - predictions I made at the very end of Season 7 .....
In what episode does the Night King meet his demise? Come on, it's GONNA HAPPEN - HBO CANNOT allow a series like this to end when the ultimate bad guy(s) win, and all of humanity gone?
My guess it happens before Circe gets it - and the Mountain as well.
For my money, it would be far more satisfying to these events to happen in the last 3 episodes -
Episode 4 - The Night King and his dragon meet it's demise, along with the army of the dead in a protracted, heart-crushing battle in which a few favorite characters die - but NOT Jon "Aegon" Snow-Garyen -
Episode 5 - Bran and Sam finally spill the goods on Jon as to who he REALLY IS - the urgency of the Army of the Dead spilling south of The Wall prevent them from doing so in the first three episodes. Meanwhile, the problem of Circe resurfaces and the remaining allies foment a plan on dealing with her. Jon has to reveal to Danerys his Targaryen blood, who may have already figured it out, but doesn't care because Jon is such a dreamboat, and she couldn't stand to live without her hot nephew...(ewwww grossss) An emotionally charged and dramatic episode.
Episode 6 - The SERIES FINALE - Circe is dispatched by the tragic figure of either Tyrion or Jamie or Arya or Sansa, Cleganebowl happens, with the Hound victorious over The Mountain, Danerys gives birth to a beautiful baby daughter with Jon/Aegon's inky-black eyes, and Jon and Sam, incognito, sip ales at a Flea Bottom brewery while a minstrel band plays "Don't Stop Believing" - fade to black, series over.
Thoughts?

Well, it looks like Tyrion was right--most (if not all) of the main characters survived the Battle of Winterfell. Is this a set-up for something far more sinister??

the whole flaming sword sequence was fantastic!
after that it was a dark, swirling, "WTF-is-going-on"
directionless mess!!
The biggest event we've been looking fwd to all this
time and it was a cinematic mud stew!! sheesh!
(and yes, I actually cheered at the death scene!! Has
always been my guess for who sits the iron throne...
(although w/ this move I'm scared we're being set up
for a dramatic death scene now!!)
(Ghost is too smart and bolted ASAP!)
