Wednesday (netflix)

#1 Post by Buc Wheat »

Have 1 more ep to go and enjoying it very much!

Especially liked the dancing scene!

Not too impressed with Gomez & Morticia. They look the parts, but
they both come off wrong (know what I mean?) in the acting dept.
Did enjoy Fester! And Thing is very good! :)

Wondering if it'll wrap up the season, or end in a cliff hanger?

I agree. Excellent series. Let's face it, nobody can compare to the original Gomez and Morticia! Wednesday is, however, just as you would expect her to be at that age.

I was considering dropping Netflix but this made me stick with it.

Excellent series.

The episodes directed by Tim Burton were very good and yes, the dancing scene was a definite highlight as was Wednesday playing a cello version of "Paint it Black."

But the best part of Jenna Ortega's portrayal for me is the absence of blinking..

Well, courtesy of you folks, a few trusted associates on another forum, and some much-repeated praise from my progeny & their peers, I finally got round to watching the 1st episode.

I was sold after the first 20 minutes.

The one liners came thick & fast, were beautifully phrased, and executed via cold deadpan delivery Image
  • E.g.: "When I look at you the following emojis come to mind . . . rope, shovel, hole". Genius  :)
Recognised plenty of the cast too (aside from the obvious ones!)

Loved it. Now off to watch more Image

So - got through all 8 in 2 evenings.

Enjoyed the 1st 4 more than the last 4, not sure if it was the directors, but the one-liners CERTAINLY all but disappeared in the latter half of the season (I was sad).

I DID keep me guessing right up to the end (they made sure we suspected multiple characters).

Well worth a watch, and I'm pleased it's been renewed for season 2.

There's a lovely string cover of Nothing Else Matters in ep 3.
