.
Not sure how many people here have access to this OR are actually still interested in it . . . but regardless . . . catch-up time.
First – the FOUR
“Short Trek” episodes (each is 15-18 mins long) that aired between the 1st and 2nd season.
They apparently were designed to give us further introduction to some of the characters/stories due to crop up in Season 2.
I have to say that these were MUCH better (IMO) than the majority of the Season 2 episodes so far.
Amazing in every respect.
S02E00(a) - "Runaway”
Transmitted October 4th 2018.
Focused on “Tilly” and a new (nicely thought out) character. Tilly is growing on me. Lovely actress, playing an unusual character, and she really gets to “spread her wings” this season.
S02E00(b) - "Calypso”
Transmitted November 8th 2018.
Interesting in all sorts of ways.
No idea how the main character will fit into future episodes, but it was a REALLY engaging story (starring a great actor) that definitely left you wanting to know more.
Some amazing effects work here too (that’s true for everything in both seasons though!)
S02E00(c) - "The Brightest Star”
Transmitted December 6th 2018.
Loved this episode. Some great background for Saru’s character that is further examined in the best (at this point) episode of Season 2 . . .
S02E06 / “The Sounds Of Thunder”.
S02E00(d) - "The Escape Artist”
Transmitted January 3rd 2019.
And they saved the best for last. Harry Mudd once again, and OMG is it good. The ending is SO clever (and brings back great memories of the original Star Trek).
