I watched ep 1 last night, and also thought I'd accidentally started with ep 2. They start in with flashbacks to fill in the blanks, but it was a little jarring. I like what I've seen so far though.

There is alot dislike and some hate for this..
A series reboot not needed somebody said.

I finished the series up yesterday and really enjoyed it. I think this captures the feel of the original series, but takes it in a different direction--a well done reboot. Looking forward to Season 2.

I finished it last night as well. I think it suffers from the same problem that a number of Netflix or Amazon originals have - a few too many episodes in a "season" dragging it down, but overall I think it was really well done. Parker Posey's spin on Dr. Smith was next level. She was really a master manipulator, and her interactions with all the characters were credible. While I found her to be the standout, I think the entire cast was solid and all the characters had something meaningful to contribute to the plot at various points in time. I was entertained and look forward to the next season.

The original was a bit before my time so I never got into it - not even with re-runs.

Not sure if I should bother with this or not . . . .

You should give it a chance. Per Buc's comment above - the first ep is a little jarring so give that a bit of consideration if you start in. You get dropped right into the middle of the story and it catches you up via flashbacks which actually take place over multiple episodes. The story quickly becomes coherent and engaging IMO.

K - thanks Larrry - based on your advice I'll give the first 2 episodes a shot.

Larry - you're safe :D

Only needed to watch the first episode to be sold on this - LOVED it - can't think of a thing that wasn't outstanding.

The family/emotion stuff is the perfect complement to the sci-fi, action and SFX.

Thanks for convincing me :thumb2:

PS: I'll admit I did get chills when the robot said "Danger Will Robinson"

I thought this was a solid offering from Netflix.
Was never a fan of the original Irwin Allen TV show (I know, I know... sacrilege).
This remake has a decent cast, great production values.
Some have complained about the editing - I take that to be the flashbacks - but I had no problem with it. In fact, in later episodes, it become essential to telling the story. Had the story been told in a more chronological or linear way some crucial elements would have been reveal too early, a definite mistake if you want to tell a dramatic story (and here I'm referring specifically to the motive for the attack on the mother ship).
If some found the opening episode confusing imagine how bored you might have been if the story had been told in chronological order.
You have to start with the drama and fill in the "holes."
Oh, and Will is clearly no wimpy kid.

This pretty much sums up my feelings about the series.
I enjoyed it, and found it both interesting and entertaining.

I'm enjoying the series so far, up to ep5. I love the robot, especially his "facial expressions" and the idea that the Jupiter 2 was just one of many Jupiters heading out to colonise space :)

A bit "Disney" (old time - so in a good way) in places - and some massive plot flaws as regards the "rust" - but SO much fun to watch.

Full disclosure - the latest Star Wars vomit along with the Boredalorian didn't exactly set a high bar - but I think most people will enjoy this.

I love the family interplay, and the actress who plays Maureen Robinson (Molly Parker) has more acting chops than the entire cast of most recent movie releases (her face is SO expressive!)

Correct - they were on opposite networks in the same time slot starting in Spring of '66. Batman was kicking ass and LIS started camping it up to compete.

Here's a little trivia - according to IMDb, Carroll O'Connor, Jack Elam, and Victor Buono were among the actors considered for the part of Dr. Zachary Smith.
Buono would have been a wonderful choice. A superb actor ... gone much too soon ...
