I'm glad some of you guys are giving me a short insight into the TV-land jungles ... there are soooo many more channels doing their own series nowadays ... I'm sure some of them are even good ... used to love watching any scifi ... but have basically not watched any TV for about 10 years ... no time ... not even for modeling, much less TV ...

... as an aside, I don't know how it is with you guys, but as I have gotten older I have been feeling a greater and greater compulsion to try to do all the things that I have always wanted to do, things that matter to me ... and that leaves no time for TV watching ... I figure I watched enough TV in the 1970s and 1980s and again in the 2000s (with the 90s again being basically zero TV watching other than little kiddie shows with the kids) to last me two lifetimes ...

think I'm on ep 7 or 8 so far. Enjoying everyone but Penny. (can we put her
back out the airlock?)

The way these folks land on planets and never seem to determine 'something'
might be dangerous makes me wonder how these idjits passed the initial testing?!
I think Will should sue all these asshats for flunking him! :)

Still enjoy that Titan AE robot for some weird reason! Just oozes 'cool'!

 - agreed.

Yeah - it seems like they lurch from 1 disaster / "life threatening situation" to another in under 5 minutes (hit repeat) :)

Still damn good fun though.

I remember the Simpsons episode where they went to a Lost in Space display of props at the Springfield Mall. Dr Smith was there signing autographs and started getting too friendly with Bart.
Suddenly the Robot came online waving its arms and shouting "Danger Bart Simpson Danger Danger".

A bit "Disney" (old time - so in a good way) in places - and some massive plot flaws as regards the "rust" - but SO much fun to watch.

HMS, I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY!

Actually, when first watching the first season, I couldn't help but be struck with thinking over and over and over again: "This is how I would have liked the original, (6os?) TV show to have been." The original appeared to be going in a more "realistic" direction at the beginning of the first season, (at least as realistic as a 60's Sci Fi TV Program can be, prior to special effects coming into existence).

It seemed like when it was still black-and-white, it had more of a dramatic edge to it. Then later it took a sharp turn to the left, (going off a cliff) around the time it became colorized. The show just seemed to loose much of it initial "seriousness" then. They started getting really campy (with those rubber-suited space aliens, along with a never-ending cast of space visitors. - It kind of reminded me a bit of an Outer Space version of Gilligan's Island).

I started to tune out on it then, both figuratively and literally speaking. Then they gave the antics of Dr. Smith more and more focus, and I was done.

Netflix's revamped, resurrected Lost is Space series has been a Blast! for me, along with a breath of fresh air, sci-fi show wise! The first season ended on such a cliff-hanger. With season two, I love the direction they've taken, (along with answering many of the questions originally posed in the first season).

The Doctor Smith character is something else.

I REALLY like the acting in it, and the story-lines and plots have been well designed and well written.

(I can't wait to see what Season three has in store).

Finally getting to season 2.
I'm 5 episodes in, so what, half way.
First episode was kind of in the background, as I was on the computer doing some stuff, so I sorta skimmed over all that disaster drama in the beginning. Didn't start seriously watching until around the time they got zapped by the lightning.
After that, I was totally sucked in though.
I should have been in the dungeon painting, but I ended up planted on the couch until I finally got to a point where I could shut it off for the night.
Smith is so delusional I almost feel sorry for her (not quite, but almost)
I like how Penny can see right through her.
A few thing are a bit too much to be believable .Like Smith just being able to wipe all records from the computer. Don't they have back-ups? And how did she get access?

I did like the way everyone reacted when they got on the planet, and were just normal members of a group again, and not nearly as special as they thought they were. That, was realistic.

Looking forward to seeing what the last half the season has in store.

Not saying my memory is going - but who's this "Smith" and "Penny" you talk about? :)

With the original series, I really liked the creepiness the first season had in a lot of the episodes.
But, being a kid, I also didn't mind the goofiness of the following seasons.

I really enjoyed S2 of the Netflix version.
There were a few things that were a bit too obvious or convenient.
While I do enjoy the roller coaster ride, and the 'all thriller, no filler' aspect of these short Netflix seasons. I do also wish there were a few more episodes to kind of spread things out and give us more room to breath. And see 'normal' life for these people.
I mean, no sooner do the Robinson's get back, then suddenly there is a huge problem that the rest of the people didn't have before they got back.

Why didn't anyone question why the pins in that dude's knee suddenly just disappeared? No one thought to quarantine the area he bled on?

After finally getting Scarecrow where he needed to go, why did all the others suddenly appear from nowhere?
If they were there the whole time, why didn't they attack sooner?

All that said, that is all hindsight stuff.
While binging the show they don't give you much time to think about all that.

Looking forward to what S3 has in store.
Because the end of S2 was quite the shock.
I was pretty sure something unexpected was going to happen, but I didn't think it would be that.

Also, since I never saw a body, I don't believe for a minute that a certain doctor is no more.

JUST FINISHED BINGE-WATCHING SEASON THREE THIS PAST WEDNESDAY.

(I was dead tired, after school and originally planned to just watch the first
episode or two, at least seeing how the colonists were going to get themselves
out of their latest fix...And before I know it, I was half way in, and figured:
"What the heck? Might as well take it to the end.") - :?

Spoiler Alert!!!
I really enjoyed the third season. It did feel a bit rushed, though.
(It was almost like they were trying to see how many disasters
and close calls they could cram in, for the colonists to overcome and survive
before the story came to an end).

I really liked how they ended the story with Dr. Smith.

Overall I got a real good satisfying feeling from the third season, along with the
entire series.

(I'm going to try to binge-watch all of the episodes from the beginning over our
Christmas break).

Thanks for being considerate by making the spoilers obvious - I skipped that part of your post as I haven't had chance to watch any of the new season yet.

Hopefully next week!

Finished series 3 last night. Overall enjoyed it. There were, once
again, multiple times you go, "oh really?! Sheesh!".

Thought the ending was overly eye rolling, but again, enjoyable
show overall.
