Alita: Battle Angel

#1 Post by AntMan »

Just saw it this past Thursday, (early release).

:like

LOVED IT!

:like

They really (seamlessly) blended the CGI in with the actual actors, actresses and movie sets & props.

I could see pieces of the recent Astro Boy animation embedded in Alita.

Also, it had a whole lot of what I would have liked to see in the recent live-adaptation of Ghost in the Shell movie.

I highly recommend checking Alita out.

(P. S. As a really nice, sentimental side-note, I just ran across this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNnFNxx4Exw)

Very entertaining movie, good CGI and some cool world-building.

Positive comments from you folks - and generally positive across-the-board from paying customers.

I wasn't really interested in this - but may well cave now :-k

I was thinking about catching it this weekend when the wife goes to see the new Madea movie.
But the timing doesn't work out :(
There is almost an hour difference between the start times and end times of the 2 movies.

I hadn't realized it but the Alita: Battle Angel Movie was pretty closely based on an Anime OVA, which was released back in 1993:

Here's another interesting analysis of the Cameron version:

I caught it on HBO and really enjoyed it, even though it's not normally the type of film I'd gravitate to. Must say that her enlarged eyes were unnecessarily distracting, but I guess that comes form the source material (Anime or gaming?)
