Good Omens
Stuck at home this WonderFest weekend? If you have Amazon Prime, then I highly recommend Good Omens. It's been years since I read the book, but I think they did a nice job. Great casting!

Re: Good Omens
One of my all time favorite books. Spoiler free and straight to the point review, after binge watching all episodes. Loved it. Michael Sheen and David Tennant are just spot on perfect, plus an outstanding supporting cast and great cameos.

Re: Good Omens
Finally finished this last night.
Brilliant in places (the "ark" scene was my fave ), really boring in others.
Well acted (except maybe the young male lead) - and Michael Sheen & David Tennant were amazing (it seems Tennant can do no wrong).
Overall, I'd file this under "enjoyable (ish)", but doubt I'll ever watch it again. I will watch the nuns song (which was not part of the main broadcasts) again and again and again though - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Boz7rHYLj6s

Re: Good Omens
yeah, I also thought the young kid was off somehow... his transition from
good to bad wasn't done well, I thought. Kept waiting for the story to
return to Sheen & Tennant, which was always enjoyable.

The first half of ep 3 was my favorite. Daughter is watching it again as I type this.

Re: Good Omens
As a long time fan of the book I really wanted to love this, but I ended up just liking it a lot. Tennant & Sheen were great, as was most of the cast, but I think it was really hard for them to communicate on screen that inner voice that is so much a part of the book. With one or two exceptions they all have it a good try, but some of the dialogue sounded flat. At least that's my opinion. One final observation, did it seem like Gaiman set this up for a possible sequel series featuring Tennant and Sheen...or is it just me?

No it's not. There was some wacky religious group that were demanding Netflix pull it... but it's an Amazon Prime show, not Netflix! How stupid they looked. But as a joke, Netflix said they would cancel it. In return, Amazon have said they are canceling Stranger Things.
PTerry would have loved all this!

I found it to be very funny and completely entertaining. Now, I LOVE it even more that a group of sanctimonious wack-a-doodles want to have it banned because it twists their collective knickers... and got who made it wrong! That's just genius. Love both Amazon's and Netflix's humorous responses!
Sheen and Tennant were pitch perfect throughout for my money. Just an inventive, fun show.
