S02E08 - "The Rescue"

Almost ruined by Sackhoff & her sidekick (who are both HORRIBLY miscast AND terrible actors in this).

But - I screamed out loud during the 3rd act - because even with less-than-perfect "effects" (you'll know what I mean when you see it) - this brought out the fanboy in me.

Spikey, this episode, without a doubt,

IS THE BEST STAR WARS STORY IN DECADES!!!

Someone, anyone, prove me wrong!!!!

Really enjoyed this one...

but...

I really thought CGI had come farther along in 2020 than apparently it has.

I'd have much rather liked them finding a living look-a-like than that badly done
job. There has to be at least 1000 of them out and about Hollywood?!

-----don't look ------

(and what... blowing AI's out an airlock does what exactly to um??! c'mon man!!) lol

Yeah - Season 2 as a whole has been a massive improvement on the 1st season.

It has - per the de-aging of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Junior, Jnr.?) in 2016's "Captain America: Civil War" etc.

BUT - they are TV-budget constrained (BIG budget compared to most TV shows - but still).

Perhaps Favreau will "pull a Lucas" and release an updated version (or 3) in a few years time :)

    • (* this was SUCH an iconic moment it deserved all the tax money in California thrown at it! *)

PS: - I also LOL'd at the airlock scene

had me chuckling out loud as well. Like why have an air lock in the same room
as da robots in the 1st place?! ...and with all the advanced tech, and working
primarily in space, you'd think they'd at least have grav boots! LOL

When they were examining the deck plans, they said that they Dark Troopers were housed in an unused cargo hold. So an airlock makes sense for the loading and unloading of cargo. But the cargo hold wasn't that large, so there shouldn't have been enough air in the hold to force the robots out of the hold.

I just assumed it was so they can deploy right out to space if they needed too, since they don't need oxygen. Not that I'm putting to much grey matter into the story of the Mandalorian.

I’m sure most of us would agree that 2020 was a pretty $hitty year. No-one could have guessed that the entire world would go topsy-turvy.

But there were some positives, and the final minutes of The Mandalorian S02E08 were without a doubt THE high point of the “TV” year.

This YouTuber has collected live “reaction videos” from multiple others into 1 video. I’ve time-started it when the 1st reaction begins  https://youtu.be/BTSsul8tPvU?t=68

It’s heartwarming to watch these GENUINE, POSITIVE, EMOTIONAL reactions from so many people. Sometimes things go right. Human beings can be uplifting. Love the happiness.

Happy New Year to ALL of us for 2021. It HAS to be better (please).

Ian/Spike.

PS: THIS ain't too effin' shabby either (Hamill himself linked to this one) :D 8) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR46s7wXz9I

Per my previous post - I'm SO naive.

I'm out.

I've been getting more and more incensed about this as the day has gone by.

If I ever watch this show (or any Disney/LucasFilm output) again, I'll do so while trying my best to NOT fund a corporation that has decided hypocrisy, pandering, dishonesty, double-standards, smearing and outright lying is the right way to behave.

I'm disappointed that it took the "firing" of Gina Carano to make me come to this decision (I should have acted some months back when other issues were made public), but I can no longer support an organisation with this twisted attitude.

It's not like me taking this step will make a dent, but it will make me feel better.

Unbelievable

Yea... pretty scary stuff going on. Guess 'unity' means something different
to many folks. But we better not go there...

I thought I was watching Fraggle Rock a little towards the end. Good episode though.

Well - over 2 years since the friggin' AMAZING final episode of season 2 was originally transmitted, and we finally get the 1st episode of season 3.

Was it worth the wait? . . . hell no !!!. Stunted dialogue, wooden acting, boring script . . . the only decent thing about this (besides the short runtime) was the beastie.

We've had dodgy episodes before, so let's hope it picks up . . . a lot!

I don't mind them adding some humor to it
as long as it is within context, as in Grogu
still being just a kid doing kid things.

Speaking of humor, check out Pedro on SNL...

I thought Ep1 felt a bit like "remember all this? Its been a while, let us set the scene for you". Like the multi Mandalorians at the start, lots of model potential imo
