David Prowse passes at 85

Unfortunately, the news of Dave Prowse's death is another unwelcome event in this year of terrible things. He was apparently battling prostate cancer, but reports indicate he died after a short illness.
David's screen credits include Darth Vader most notably, and A Clockwork Orange but to Hammer fans like me his roles in Vampire Circus, Horror of Frankenstein and Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell are his highlights. The story goes that he got his film start by visiting Hammer House on Wardour Street in London and introducing himself as their next monster. A body builder and trainer and at 6'6'' tall he made and imposing figure! While Horror of Frankenstein is not on anyone's best of list, it gave him his start.
