So my oldest son Skypes me the following:
"The guy that made Seven Psychopaths and In Bruges has a new movie on HBO Max called
"Banshees of Inisherin" starring Colin Farrel and Mad Eye Moody"
Now he knows I loved those 2 movies, so yesterday, since my team doesn't play til' 4pm,
I watch it.
Now all I'll say is... I enjoyed it. (combo of Colin & Mad Eye can't miss...love these 2 guys),
but it was a strange plot that regardless, kept you wondering where the heck this would
go!!
of course, YMMV!
What's new in the Gallery?

Re: Banshees of Inisherin
Exactly! I loved both those other films and was really looking forward to Banshees, having seen many good reviews.
And I'll say I enjoyed it.... but it was not what I was expecting, even within the confines of knowing roughly what the story was about.
Some great characters, laugh out loud funny in a few places, but _really_ dark in others!
Definitely a horizon broadener! Oh, and some amazing scenery!!

Re: Banshees of Inisherin
It was a really well crafted film.
The acting was excellent right across the board; the cinematography, editing, design... all of it wonderful.
I was even on board for the premise of the rift between the friends... but then the movie took a hard left turn....
Can't say I'd recommend this...

I enjoyed this as something different. Will never watch it again, but don't regret the 1 viewing.
The acting is off the charts good, and the story draws you in even if the intended analogy is a little strained.
As Derek said - it took a sharp turn at the end . . . I SO wasn't expecting the transforming robots or the alien invasion !!!

When I watched it last year I though I'd probably never watch it again. But it's been gnawing away under my skin ever since, and I know I'm gonna
