I used to like some of Disturbed's stuff - but I've gone off them. New thing does nothing for me.

That Halestorm link though - NICE! (thanks Trev). The wee lassie has a voice to be sure.

Quite like Dee Snider's new song too. Reminds me of some of the best stuff Stanley did for KISS, combined with the "Love Is For Suckers" material. Hardly groundbreaking - but that's not what I need in a song to appreciate it :)

Missing the ol' stomping ground a bit more than normal today . .

Here's the boys at what I consider one of their best ever gigs (I'd KILL for a time machine so I could attend this one!)
    • 19th January 2001 - Rock in Rio festival, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Everything about this gig rules - and chances are it will be my fave rock DVD until the day I die.

250,000 people attending (and goodness knows how many watching on TV at the time) were treated to Iron Maiden in overdrive.

This song (like so many others on the setlist) has everything - and you can see the cameraderie and enjoyment on the guys faces. Priceless.

I gotta agree.
BNW shows were epic!
The boys had all that energy from the excitement of getting back together.
The fans were psyched to see them back together.
Nice mix of old and new in the setlist.

Though you really need to do yourself a favor Ian.
Watch this version or RIR instead of that ADHD version Harris edited for the DVD.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aop5aIR-VY

The Rock in Rio show was an epic gig at the end of an epic tour.
The crowd was massive and really into the show, and the band really fed off that energy.
I was so disappointed with the actual dvd released by the band though. Too many quick edits.
You can't really see what is happening, or enjoy the event.
I learned about the TV broadcast video in 2002 or 2003. I haven't watched the official video since then.

The TV version was shown in Canada some time in 2002 & I taped it (ah - the days of VHS :) )

It helped me through a really tough year of health issues for the Wife and my Son after his birth.

IF it's the same one, it has a shorter setlist - but I'll watch via the link anyways - because:
  • 1) I love the gig so much.
    2) It'll bring back a lot of memories that are important.
So thanks Trev! :thumb2: :jam:

Sept. 1st 2015

I've said it before - and I'm DAMN sure I'll say it again - the girl can do NO wrong.

Always loved the original from Jefferson Starship, but even with god-awful hand-held-phone audio & video quality - the young lady KILLS this.
OMG if only we could get a studio recording with her bandmates! :bdrool: :blovit:

Oooo!
Thanks for that.

Though, as much as I love that cover, I love the one for Heaven & Hell better.

Be really sweet if she does one or both of those at the show I am going to at the end of the month.

Well, I'm feeling old-school 80's tonight.

Right now it's the album Grim Reaper - See You In Hell
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Rg9SStXNfQ

Think I'm gonna follow that with
Krokus - Headhunter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6ZoqvROfRk

Not sure what will be after that.
Kicking around either Quiet Riot - Metal Health
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-ThVrr5boY
or WASP

Never heard of Grim reaper so I'll go have a look-see when I have a few mins . . .

But the other 3 - well - this is another example reminding us that we can all be into metal/rock and obviously have differing opinions

Oh yeah.
I wouldn't classify any of them as great groups, or musicians.
But man, they bring back memories.

New Def Leppard single "Let's Go" - released to the interwebby machine today.

Not too shabby.

Very much in the Hysteria / Adrenalize frame.

Hasn't got the harder edge from "High & Dry" and "Pyromania" I prefer - but of course there's no Pete Willis these days.

"Peaches" by the Presidents of the United States. I can't get it out of my head (which is another song reference altogether).
