A little bit of UPBEAT 80's "Heavy Blues Rock" (a-la-Whitesnake) is NEVER a bad thing.

Album due 12th May 2017, but they've made a third track available on Ye Olde YooTuwbe . . .

Snakecharmer - "Follow Me Under" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBBBMJzdgj8

This albums getting bought for sure :D

http://bravewords.com/news/snakecharmer ... w-me-under
"The British hard rock supergroup was originally founded in 2011 by former Whitesnake/David Coverdale members Micky Moody and Neil Murray along with the perfect mix of high calibre musicians including
Laurie Wisefield (Wishbone Ash), Harry James (Thunder, Magnum), Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath live), and Chris Ousey (Heartland).
The band’s debut self-titled album was released in 2013 and musically the record showed a finely crafted hard rock style mixed with blues and melodic overtones, akin to Micky and Neil's former band and Bad Company, with hints of early Foreigner as well.
Snakecharmer played live shows regularly in support of the album’s release and built a solid fanbase in the UK and Europe. In 2016, Moody left the band and was replaced by the Irish-born Simon McBride on lead guitar."

Good song - if the rest of the songs on the album come close to this I'll have to pick it up.

How about this one they just plonked on YouTube bud . . . (really kicks in at the 1 minute mark). Again - SOOOOOO "early 80's Whitesnakey", with a bit of "Thunder" and "Tyketto" added for good measure . . .

Gasp, shock, epiphany (and other such words to express total surprise . . . . it appears I like blues rock / blues metal

Case in point, a bunch of local good ol' boys (local to ME in Vancouver BC, Canada that is) that supported Halestorm a year or so back.

Loved them on the night, but completely forgot to go digging.

Then, found out they have a new album imminent, and came across this wee beastie.

I've also realised that vocalists are ALL important to me - this guy is perfect, (although I can also imagine Phil Lynott singing this).

Been sitting on this for a while - no idea why I didn't post it before as I bookmarked the YouTube link and kept re-playing it #-o

Always loved Vixen - a bunch of VERY talented ladies - and a band that are a firm part of my courting period with my Wife (we both love them).

Their vocalist - Janet - has got together with her husband to record a "solo" album - due to be released Aug 18th 2017.

They released a teaser-trailer with bits of FOUR of the tracks here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCCZeUSODNA

Has a "Vixen" vibe to it (not surprising given Janet on vocals) - but has other really cool flavours in there too.

Well worth a listen end-to-end - and wait till you hear the cross between KISS and Guns n' Roses at the start of the 4th track  :jam: ( HERE - https://youtu.be/HCCZeUSODNA?t=3m26s ).

Janet & her hubby are great musicians (and they're both ridiculously good-looking too - Janet, along with dear departed Jan Kuehnemund, always were the hotties in Vixen).

This ones a buyer, and I'm hoping they tour and visit Vancouver.

Glad you like it, but for me, nothing really grabbed me.
Yeah, it sounds good, but nothing that says 'listen to me' .

I am glad I followed the link though, because on the side I saw the new Volbeat video.
Black Rose.
The songs been out for a while, but the new video is a hoot :D

This one is . . . . . . entertaining (for sure) :)

Never heard of these fellas before today - and as is my wont when I hear someone new I like - I'm off to do some research ! :)
Love the song (easy listening blues rock), great singer and musicians, love the mood of the video & colours used, plus the added bonus of a beautiful lady with a STUNNING figure.

I approves.

As part of my digging - found out that the dude towards the front in the 3rd pic I posted was their vocalist up until 2010 - when he was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident - wow!
  • "The GOTTHARD singer had flown to the U.S. with some biker friends just this weekend to fulfil a long-cherished dream for which he'd never had the time, due to his heavy touring schedule for many years. It was to be two weeks through the states on a Harley Davidson. The 21 Swiss bikers started their journey on Sunday on a total of 12 motorcycles. On Tuesday 5 October, about 50 miles from Las Vegas, the group had stopped at the roadside to put on their rain gear as it had started to rain. On the slippery road, the trailer of a passing truck began to skid. The driver attempted evasive action but his trailer clipped five of the motorcycles parked at the roadside; one of them hit Steve Lee."
  • • Singer Steve Lee died in a motorcycle accident Oct 5th 2010.
    • Gotthard announced their new singer, Nic Maeder, Nov 11th 2011.

As some of you are aware, I've always been partial to a bit of "In This Moment" (love Maria's voice!)

They have been dropping bits & pieces from the new album over the last couple of months, and the album was officially released 2 days back . . . so it's share (not Cher!) time :)

These are the 2 that have impressed me most (so far).

While getting ready to head out I heard "Feelin' Alright With The Boys" by 999. Forgot how much I like that song.

That Janet Gardner "solo" album hit the streets almost 2 weeks ago (Aug 18th) and DAMN is it good !!!!!

Here's the first track officially released to YouTube . . . Rat Hole (apparently inspired by them being pissed-off with health-insurance rip-offs).

What's not to love about a brassy, busty blonde with what is STILL one of the best female voices in rock.

. . . and her hubby plays a mean guitar too!

They've been doing the rounds with interviews and I caught one where Janet was praising Lzzy Hale - now THAT would be a team-up I'd like to hear

Anette Olzon - "the power pixie" - the best vocalist Nightwish ever had (IMO).
  • She's BACK !!!!!!!!!! (1:05 - oh MAN!!! - that VOICE !!!!!!!!!!)
Totally reminds me of when Nightwish were at their best (Dark Passion Play).

Our family will never forget that gig May 20th 2008 (it was the Wife's Birthday) at the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver. The whole band were AWESOME - but especially Annette.

Very impressed with this song - I'll certainly be checking out the album when it's released Nov. 10th 2017 - http://bravewords.com/news/the-dark-ele ... streaming
    • . . . and based on the 19,000 YouTube views on day 1 - so will plenty of others :D

And back to the Power Pixie again :D

DAMN these guys (and gal) are good.

2nd track from the album - just like the best stuff Nightwish ever did - but without the pretentious keyboard player with a god complex.
