You will enjoy Nita's guitar playing. Little different style than Orianthi. Alice showcases her playing quite a bit. I hope you have a good venue for acoustics and be able to really appreciate the whole experience. I'm sure they had VIP available - I think they get sold out about every show.
Oh yeah. I did get tickets to this over the weekend.
Surprised there were still seats available this long after they went on sale.
Not bad ones either. In the back, but that is where I wanted. I want to see the whole stage for a change. Just so I can take it all in.
I haven't gotten tickets for TSO yet - there are still good tickets available here so I need to act on it pretty quick.

Top pic is my Pass and second pic is a bandana Alice signed for me.
I'm in first pic with Alice, second is my son Steve ( he is the musician), and third is my youngest son Brian.

It was a great time - especially sharing it with both my sons. I'm still surprised Larry remembered about the show. I ran into him the middle of summer at a Cards Baseball game and her said he would set us up. A big surprise Saturday morning getting a phone call about it.

Re: Next concert on the calandar
Had a great time at the show. Even though he did start over half an hour late, it was well worth the wait.
Here is a video I took of the intro and first song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-E0s_L ... Cgc42vXVaX
Liked most of the song selection, though I missed hearing some of the old favorites (especially Nightmare, and Go To Hell). Stage show was great, as always. Giant FrankenAlice - check. Guillotine - Check, no pyro, but there was plenty of smoke, atmosphere, light show, and fireworks. I think everyone got a solo, and all looked like they were having fun out there.
She just has more of the lead-guitarist attitude in presence, performance, and sound.
Much like Alice himself, Orianthi commands attention when she is just standing there playing,
Her style is also much more clean and crisp (which is my preference)
Nita seemed a little out of place several times during the show. Like she wasn't sure where she should be, or what she should do next. Not as far as actual playing, but as far as performance.
Her playing was great, just different. I liked her overhand shtick, and she never missed a note doing it. Plus she was really energetic. She is definitely more of a showperson.
To put it in Maiden terms Nita = Janick, Orianthi = Adrian
I love being on Janick's side of the stage at a show, as he is so entertaining.
But Adrian's playing is much more interesting to listen to.
Also stumbled across a video from earlier in the tour where both girls are playing together.

I did enjoy Nita's work, but Orianthi is still the better player/performer IMHO.tay666 wrote: I am curious to see/hear how well Nita does. She has some big shoes to fill replacing Orianthi.
I really enjoyed her playing and stage presence when I saw them in 2011 and 2012.
I always enjoyed Nita's work in Iron Maidens so it should be an interesting comparison.

Re: Next concert on the calandar
Glad you saw a good show. the drawback of having so many good songs in your catalog means having to pick and choose what will be played during a given set. Always seems like at least one of my favorites gets left out.
Orianthi and Nita definitely have 2 different approaches to their guitar playing. I like both their styles and like you would lean more toward Orianthi's style of playing and stage presence. when she plays you are sort of drawn in to her. Nita is definitely more of the showman in her performing - I describe her playing as more of a shredder.
Thanks for posting that last video - cool seeing them both playing together.
I agree with your Maiden comparisons too!

Re: Next concert on the calandar
Here's my list of concerts through the end of the year:
Nov. 9 - Kingofthehill (90's Midwest almost made it band from St. Louis)
Nov. 29 - Halestorm
Dec. 8 - Dodge Swinger ( My Son's Clutch cover band)
Dec. 9 - Steel Panther
Dec. 22 - El Monstero (local St. Louis Pink Floyd tribute band - they do 6 sold-out shows in Dec. every year and sell out our 20K outdoor amphitheatre every summer) Always kind of a tradition around St. Louis - they've been doing it over 20 years.
That should wrap up my year musically. Way too many shows came through here this year - didn't have the funds to see half of who I wanted!

Re: Next concert on the calandar
Sounds like your dance card is pretty full.
All I have left for the year is TSO on the 21st of this month.
Not a lot came through here that really interested me. Then again, I am at the point right now, that it has to be a great show / deal to get me to travel for a show.

Re: Next concert on the calandar
I hear you! Ticket price is a big consideration for me. It really has to be something I want to see to pay a premium price.
Had to pass on TSO this year - had something else going on. Hopefully next year I will finally get to see them.

Re: Next concert on the calandar
I couldn't pass it up.
Less than an hour away, and tickets for me and the wife were just over $100 shipped to my house.
So, that was a no-brainer for a show the wife and I both want to see.

Yeah - they are pretty good at this gig thing - they should probably be doing it for a livingNM 156 wrote:Just saw them on Saturday night in NYC... Outstanding show.Scooke123 wrote:Halestorm this Thursday Nov. 29!!!!
