Totally agree with you on the "why aren't they more popular"
comment, but to be honest, they are probably better off that
way. Mega popularity "can" create mega egos, and band-wise,
we all know what that leads to.
Agreed. Also, when they start getting really big, they don't tour as much, and tickets are outrageous.
I want them to get big enough to live comfortably, but still enjoy their life and not be in the spotlight.
We will be seeing them in August with Alice Cooper.
Must confess, we are going just to see Halestorm - LoL.
I was never an AC fan, and have never seen him live,
but with HS as a co-headliner, and the venue literally less
than 10 minutes from my house, it's a no brainer!!!
For the record, we will stay for AC, just don't know how
long we will last as we're seeing KISS the night before!!!
I hope you enjoy Kiss. But if it's anything like the last time I saw them, you aren't going to expend too much energy at the show. It was good to watch (with some cringe-worthy moments due to Paul's voice declining) but wasn't much of a 'concert experience'.

I hope you end up enjoying Alice. He is a consummate performer.
Not a lot of chit-chat between songs, but still draws you in just with his stage presence and performance.

Really?
Had no idea. Might look into it, and what time she is playing.
Always a chance I might slip away if things are chill at the show. (doubt they will be, but you never know)

Cheers guys :thumb2:

Sorry Trev - my bad grammar - the intended meaning would have been better conveyed with "plus anyone" rather than "and anyone" :)

Yeah - that setlist is correct - I managed OK without "Vicious"

Hope the gigs everyone has coming up are as good as this was :jam:

She is playing at Zanzabar 2100 S. Preston St. It's 2.3 miles from the hotel. Tickets are $15 and doors @ 7:00. There are 2 opening bands - Kore Rozzik & Banshee Child so I imagine she will be playing later in the evening.

Thanks for the info, but after checking some videos, not that interested in going to see her now.

Seems she suffers from the same problem as every other guitar player band (Vinnie Vincent, Malmsteen, Steve Vai, etc)
A lot of flashy guitar playing, and not much else. A killer guitar solo can be awesome. But only if it fits the song and improves the song. A song is supposed to be more than an excuse to show off guitar playing.
And I really don't care for how overpowering the drums are. But I guess he is her boyfriend, so . . .
Also, it's all instrumental. No vocals.

Yea I watched that video too plus a coupe others. She definitely fits in better as a guitar player and not a frontman. She probably fits in best with AC with the 3 guitars. (Ryan Roxie is the better of the 2). I think I'd rather put my $15 toward something in the dealers room.
See ya in about a month!

This Saturday evening May 18: Sammy Hagar with Vince Neil opening act. Its outdoor and so far weather is looking pretty good for the show. An extra perk was that you get a copy of Sammy's latest CD just released for buying a ticket (got notification its on the way to the house already).

The Who Thursday night May 23. Hope the weather is better for this one than last weekends show. Weather was so bad they cancelled the show (Sammy Hagar) and rescheduled it for the next night on a Sunday. No rain that day but got a little cold.
Bad storms about to hit here (tornados just hit Joplin south of here - hope Rick Evans came through it ok). Supposed to be nice tomorrow and around 90 degrees so crossing my fingers.

Yeah, last weekend was pretty bad.
My daughter was at Sonic Temple (new name for Rock On The Range) in Columbus.
Sunday evening they evacuated the venue due to high winds and bad rain storms.

I hear ya! I'm about done with rain for a while.
The Who last night was a great show and perfect weather finally! They came with a full orchestra. Hearing Tommy and Quadrophenia with an orchestra was a treat. Pete Townsend was fighting a sore throat so could barely talk but Roger Daltrey sounded great esp for their ages!
They played for 2 hours 15 minutes with no stopping till the end. 4th time I've seen them and was probably the most enjoyable. One highlight for me was when they played 'Won't Get Fooled Again" - done acoustically with just Roger and Pete on stage. I've never heard it played that way before. They ended show with "Baba O'Riley" along with the full orchestra.

Going to Alice Cooper and Halestorm this Thursday night the 25th. Just got lawn tickets cheap for this show but weather is supposed to be no rain and mid 80's. I might check out a AC pre-party then night before that Ryan Roxie is putting on at a nightclub not too far from me. Depends - I have a full week of stuff this week going on - A Cards game Friday night and then 2 of my Son's bands are playing the next night.

Also going up to Chicago Sat, Aug 3 to see Ringo Starr. He is on my bucket list to see and Beach Boys are opening the show. Wife and I are going to hang up there a few days just to get away for a few.

I plan on it! Some may laugh at the Ringo/Beach Boys show but I've never seen Ringo or Paul so both are my bucket list artists. Growing up in the 60's The Beatles were a big influence on me. Closest I've come is meeting George's sister about 5 years ago (she lives not too far from St. Louis) when she came to a show we were producing for the RibAmerica that we did every year. The Tribute band 1964 was playing and she came to introduce them to the crowd. Was pretty cool talking to someone who actually knew him. Those were fun times - wish we were still involved in it.

Just got home from Alice Cooper & Halestorm - will update later. Lzzy got on stage with Alice and band to play "School's Out".
Alice show was a whole new stage with a radically different setlist - some older rarely heard cuts.
Great weather too for an out door show!!
