And another entry on the old Halestorm thread (they apparently renamed themselves to "Electric Callboy" ) . . .

The boys hit the UK - MAN I MISS UK VENUES & CROWDS AND I WISH I WAS THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :jam: :jam: :jam: :jam: :jam:

These fellas are not just talented musicians & performers - they are ENTERTAINERS - through-and-through.

Great sense-of-humour and REALLY know their audience. Making people laugh is important. Seeing the emotion from the band at the end was special. I so want these guys to be HUGE !!!!

This is effin' awesome - "Slam Dunk festival" - Sat 4th June 2022 @ Hatfield Park, UK (plus a UK awards ceremony) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uYynu3ijfE

Saw that yesterday.

If you want something completely different.

Charismatic Voice reacting to "Given Up" by Linkin Park.
Her reaction to Chester's intensity is fun to watch.

Thanks :thumb2:

Will get to that Linkin Park one later today. I've never heard anything by them that grabs me, but the Son's a big fan. You never know (open minds (ears) and all that . . .) :)

I think this performance will grab you.
That, and the song is pretty high tempo. If it sounds familiar, they used the same song in the movie Red 2. During the car chase to the airport towards the end.

I watched both RED & RED2 - but don't remember the song.

It DOES however remind me of punk era stuff (not a bad thing given I was there in the early Motörhead years where they sat mid-point between metal & punk) - but feel our lady is being somewhat generous with her observations.

I have to wonder how she would assess Dee Snider in any of his incarnations - but particularly the first 2 albums when they were raw, hallowed by us folks in the UK, and true to themselves.

I'm also starting to re-assess where your core tastes sit :-k - given the Papa Roach, early Maiden (et-al) interests? - maybe more punk than metal? / 50:50?

Not that it matters . . . taste is taste and it's all subjective to personal appreciation.

I lean more towards the punk side of metal, than the blues side of metal.
My current tastes are more about up-tempo and in-your-face type songs.

I think it is a result of all the long hours of work the past 2.5 years.
I am so worn down and frazzled that I need the high octain to even grab my attention.
No time/mental energy to appreciate the subtler soothing stuff.

That probably goes part-way to explaining why we sometimes prefer different tracks by bands we both like.

I need the soothing and the heavy - I'd never survive dealing with some of the idiots I encounter without both :)

See, the aggressive stuff gets it out of my system, so I can deal with things like trying to train clueless idiots at work.

I am so exhausted and sleep deprived most of the time, the soothing stuff luls me to sleep.
Even stuff I know I love.
I was listening to Ace Frehely's 'Fractured Mirror' the other day I was litteraly dozing off in my computer chair.
Had the same issue listening to the amazing solo from the 86-87 tour from Maiden.
I absolutely LOVE 'Walking on Glass' But I can't sit through it right now.
Same for a good majority of Rush that I like.

Now that the overtime is over, I hope I can recharge and slow down so that I can get back to enjoying the smoother side of metal again.

'Course . . . now I'm going to have to add both movies to our "coming soon" list  :)

I'm tellin' ya - what the world needs now is love, sweet love (1965 version) . . . along with a large dose of Electric Callboy to start off every day !!! (2021/2022 version).

As far as I can tell . . . EVERY SINGLE EUROPEAN DATE SOLD OUT ?!?!?!? (* I'm in no way surprised *)

The opening for this one was hilariously confusing (and only explained later in the vid) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SorrhjaHlM

I know the show near me in Nov is sold out. Only tickets available are resale tickets.
I was gonna go, but again, mobile only tickets kept me from seriously considering it.

Still deciding how I feel about the new Megadeth song.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkJ5jJuraLQ

I like the tune, and the feeling, but the lyrics just aren't grabbing me.
