Re: New Iron Maiden album due Sept 4th 2015 - The Book Of So
I got spoiled when my kids were growing up.
From 02-10 I never went to a show alone, But then my son moved out, and my daughter went off to college.
The first couple years she was in school the timing of shows coincided with breaks so we still hit them together. But then I had to start going alone again.
Shows I just couldn't miss, but she was 200 miles away. So. (one of them we both saw the same show, just in different cities 2 days apart)
Now it about 50-50. Some work out well enough and we share interests that we meet up at the show for them. Usually somewhere about halfway (Cleveland). Others I go with my wife.
The other 50% I go solo.
Like the recent Cooper show. The wife had no interest and I wasn't missing it.
We usually always get together for Maiden though. Only exception was BOS tour. She went to Chicago to see them, I didn't want to travel that far in the middle of the week.
It balances out though, as I saw a Papa Roach show she missed due to some scheduling issue. Because that is another one we always do together.

I would have got tickets, but my life is not my own these days - and I have no idea if I'll be in Canada or the UK from week-to-week - so no point.
The memory of that gig in Birmingham is SO special though - so it's all good.
That October 4th Rio gig though - oh man
Got bought a ticket for my Birthday by my best friend.
Still no idea if I'll be in the country to attend - but it's there if I am.
Have to be honest - not really looking forward to it - the sound at Rogers is abysmal - especially where the seats are. Plus I wanted the UK gig from last year to be my last time seeing them for a while - I'd still do that Rio gig though

Iron Maiden + support bands sell out Rock In Rio 2019 in less than 2 hours (90,000 tickets).
Scorpions are 2nd on the bill - DAMN I want to go to that!
- (* the resulting DVD's should be pretty friggin' special as well! *)

Any fan needs to watch this video series
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv1kBba ... 4HNYJck5_f
It's Nicko going over the setlist for the Legacy tour.
Totally hilarious, and cool at the same time.

Bruce continuing his "What Does This Button Do?" tour - this link from March 6th 2020 in Hamburg, Germany.
Love the comment regarding autocues - with the example chosen being a joke at Halford's expense - https://youtu.be/u5FmzMkbXyY?t=50
As the rest of the clip makes clear - Mr. Dickinson still has one HECK of a voice!
He'll bring this tour to Canada eventually (I blimmin' hope!)

I've been watching clips for a couple weeks now.
Some are kind of boring, but there are some real gems in there too.
After watching this one, I had to listen to all my versions of Tears of the Dragon
(album, acoustic, orchestral, and live)
