And it makes it even funnier And makes a connection I never made on my first dozen listens.
"Now here are the cabbages" ?!?!??!? WTH?
Hadn't picked up on the "Men in Black" alien until Tank mentioned it.
Tank's a very astute & reasonable person who makes great points - his comments on their style & how rock fans don't have to be serious all the time (9:20-ish for about a minute) REALLY resonated with me and I agree 100%
Thanks for the link - I would have got notified over the weekend when I got round to signing on, but it's better to find out via here
I could happily listen to these guys over and over as the world burned - that's how "up" / cheerful they are (and NO - I'm NOT sharing the video the kids surreptitiously took of me dancing in my chair to this a week ago with my headphones on and the volume on 80!)
PS: You thinking of trying for tickets for one of the Ohio dates?

I am currently 5 tracks in. Nothing I dislike so far. Only one that has really caught my interest though has been Call Me Little Sunshine.
Will see what the rest of the album has in store for me a little later.
I am currently stuck at 9 tracks in, I keep replaying Watcher In The Sky and Twenties.

LOL - "Twenties" is probably my least fave track (excluding the horn-driven "Dominion") - but I still love it - LOVE"Watcher In The Sky" (possibly my fave along with "Spillways", "Darkness at the Heart of my Love" and "Griftwood").
Oh my - so much wonderful on this album . . . glad you seem to be enjoying it . . and DAMN have you got some great tracks ahead of you . . . "Darkness at the Heart of My Love" + "Griftwood" + "Bite of Passage" + "Respite on the Spitalfields".
"Respite" (a stunningly beautiful song) has one of the more obvious "borrowed" bits from 70's/80's rock history the "duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh" from Whitesnake's "Still of the Night" (you'll know it when you hear it).

New single thrown out there today.
100% agree with the sentiments from Lzzy, AND her lyrics, but the song didn't reach the heights they are capable of. It's OK, but nothing special . . .
Acoustic version uploaded today - and I LOVE this one (has a southern rock feel to it - which is never a bad thing!)
Not quite up to "Blackfoot" standards, but (just like Rickey Medlocke) - Lzzy proves again why she's so respected as a vocalist . . . chills almost as soon as she started singing.
It doesn't follow the order on the album, but that turned out to be a good thing because although I'm not a fan of the 1st 2 singles ("Back From the Dead" and "Wicked Ways"), I LOVE the 1st track on the playlist - "Terrible Things" . . . slow, seductive and moody - perfect for Lzzy's voice (but then, what isn't?) . . . Lzzy showing her softer side . . .

WE ARE HUMAN
WE ARE VIOLENT
WE LEARN OUR LESSONS
THEN DEFY THEM
WE ARE HEARTLESS
AND I’MMORAL
WE CARRY HATRED
LIKE A BIBLE
AND THERE’S A HOLE IN MY LIFE
THERE’S A BLACKNESS INSIDE
THAT’S EATING ME ALIVE
LEAVING ME TO DECIDE
DO I LIVE
WITH THIS PAIN
AS THE RAIN STARTS TO FALL FROM MY EYES
ASKING MY SELF WHY
I SEE
TERRIBLE THINGS
I SEE A
SICKNESS IN A WORLD ON ITS KNEES
IT WILL TAKE WHAT YOU LOVE LIKE A THIEF
BUT IN MY DREAMS
I BELIEVE
WERE NOT THESE TERRIBLE THINGS
WE ARE NOTHING WITHOUT FAILURE
BUT WE HAVE CHOSEN ILL BEHAVIOR
WITH EVERY SCAR HAVE WE LEARNED
NOT TO HEAL
BUT TO HURT
WE’VE BECOME SOMETHING ELSE
EVEN I CANNOT TELL JUST WHY
I SEE
TERRIBLE THINGS
I SEE
A SICKNESS IN A WORLD ON ITS KNEES
AND IT WILL TAKE WHAT YOU LOVE LIKE A THIEF
BUT IN MY DREAMS I BELIEVE
WE’RE NOT THESE
TERRIBLE THINGS
AH
AH
AH
IF I FALL
IF I RUN
THAT’S WHEN I
WILL BECOME
TERRIBLE THINGS
I SEE
TERRIBLE THINGS
I SEE
A SICKNESS IN A WORLD ON ITS KNEES
IT WILL TAKE WHAT YOU LOVE LIKE A THIEF
BUT IN MY DREAMS I BELIEVE
WE’RE NOT THESE
TERRIBLE THINGS
LOOK AT ME
AND YOU’LL SEE
WE’RE NOT THESE
TERRIBLE THINGS
AH
AH
AH
TERRIBLE THINGS
AH
AH
AH
This woman's voice makes me cry for all the right reasons - right out the gate.
This one is SO gonna be on their new setlist!
[list] BURN EVERY FEAR
EVERY DOUBT
LIKE A FUNERAL FIRE
SCREAM EVERY ANTHEM
AND FOLLOW YOUR RECKLESS DESIRES
TAKE BACK THE CROWN
THAT HANGS AT THE GATE
READY YOUR MARCH
STEADY YOUR AIM
FOR THE HEART IS A SOLDIER
THAT NEVER LOSES ITS WAY
SO RAISE YOUR HORNS
RAISE ‘EM HIGH
LET ‘EM SOAR
LET ‘EM FLY
UP THROUGH THE HEAVENS
FOREVERMORE
LET ‘EM REIGN DOWN
RAISE YOUR HORNS
SING EVERY VERSE
EVERY SERMON
FOR THE DEAD ARE UNHEARD
SHOUT FROM THE ROOFTOPS
WHILE YOU STILL LIVE EVERY WORD
CAUSE THE PENDULUM SWINGS
FOR THOSE WHO DARE WAIT
THROUGH FLESH AND THROUGH BONE
TO WHERE NOTHING ESCAPES
SO FOLLOW TRUE NORTH
ON THE ROAD THAT
WILL LEAD YOU AWAY
SO RAISE YOUR HORNS
RAISE ‘EM HIGH
LET ‘EM SOAR
LET ‘EM FLY
UP THROUGH THE HEAVENS
FOREVERMORE
LET ‘EM REIGN DOWN
RAISE YOUR HORNS
FORGIVE EVERY FEAR THAT CONVINCED YOU
TO PUT OUT YOUR LIGHT
SHOW EVERY FLAW EVERY SCAR
THAT THIS WORLD MADE YOU HIDE
FROM WHO YOU ARE
FROM WHO YOU ARE
RAISE YOUR HORNS
RAISE ‘EM HIGH
LET ‘EM SOAR
LET’ EM FLY
UP THROUGH THE HEAVENS
FOREVERMORE
LET ‘EM RAIN DOWN
RAISE YOUR HORNS

YOU SAY
I NEED
PSYCHO THERAPY
NOW YOU’RE MAKING ME MAD
I SAY
YOU QUIT
TRYING TO FIX ME
OR THIS IS GONNA GET BAD
IF YOU WANT A BATTLE
I’LL GIVE YOU A WAR
THINK YOU CONTROL ME
DON’T KNOW WHAT YOUR IN FOR
KEEP COMING AT ME
KEEP COMING
YOU’LL SEE
KEEP PUSHING
KEEP PUSHING
PUSHING ON ME ……
IF YOU WANT CRAZY
I’LL GIVE YOU PSYCHO
SO DON’T MAKE ME MAD
I’LL GET SICK IN THE HEAD
AND SHOW YOU WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW
IF YOU WANT CRAZY
I’LL GIVE YOU PSYCHO
YOU SAY
I’VE GOT
PROBLEMS
GOT ISSUES
AND IT’S ALL IN MY HEAD
BUT DON’T GET
IT TWISTED
YOU JUST MIGHT
MISUNDERSTAND
YOU’RE THE REASON I AM
I MAY GO BALLISTIC
OR BETTER UNHINGED
IN MY STRAIGHTJACKET
ON NEEDLES AND PINS
BUT DON’T YOU FORGET
THAT YOU STARTED THIS #$#$#$#
IF YOU WANT CRAZY
I’LL GIVE YOU PSYCHO
SO DON’T MAKE ME MAD
I’LL GET SICK IN THE HEAD
AND SHOW YOU WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW
IF YOU WANT CRAZY
I’LL GIVE YOU PSYCHO
IF YOU WANT CRAZY
I’LL GIVE YOU PSYCHO
IT ALWAYS COMES DOWN
TO YOU VERSUS ME
BUT I WON’T BREAK
AND THIS TIME I’M FIGHTING FOR ME
FOR EVERYTHING YOU TOOK AWAY
I was lucky enough to hear about this on the day of release (April 1st) but for some reason best known to students who study advancing senility, I had completely forgotten to post here.
No doubt (the observation, not the band) several of you have already heard of this, and maybe listened . . . but for those of you that haven't - be prepared to have your minds blown!
I loved Vai when he was with Dave Lee Roth, less so with Whitesnake (although his talent still showed there too), but wasn't impressed with his solo stuff.
But THIS (woooweeee!) . . . (especially the refrain that repeats, but FIRST hits at 1:42) . . .
The guys have been on tour in Europe for a couple of weeks now, and I've held back on posting links since the official (and not so official ) videos have been coming thick-and-fast.
But I figured THIS might be appreciated - even by those that haven't replied to the thread in a long time.
