New video from Papa Roach
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9Dd0xT7MS4

for Feels Like Home

The video is fun and fitting. Though I still think the song is a bit too pop-y.

Perfection - absolute 100% solid-gold perfection.

Scorpions, official pro-shot YouTube video uploaded yesterday - acoustic versions of "Always Somewhere", "Eye Of The Storm" and "Send Me An Angel" live at Hellfest in June 2015.

The harmonies & audience interaction during "Send Me An Angel" are particularly wonderful.

Miss you Sis

I posted the album track 3 weeks back, but today marks the 10-year anniversary of Ronnie-James Dio's passing, so thought this was appropriate.

Plus the solo at the start is AMAZING.

The only thing looking rougher than Ronnie's face is Iommi's SG - DAMN that thing looks like it's been through TEN lifetimes - but (per all SG's) sounds like no other guitar model can!

From the 1980 Black Sabbath album "Heaven and Hell" - Heaven and Hell performing "Die Young" at Hellfest, 30th July 2009.

Ronnie left us less than a year later - May 16th 2010, aged just 67.

Love this comment - "I just don't get it, we have this and yet they still listen to Drake, Rihanna and s hit". There was some laughing at that :) R.I.P. Ronnie.

Oh man, that was great!
A bit of a jarring interruption to my listening to Rush's Power Windows, but well worth it.

That solo at the beginning. Why is it no one plays solos like that anymore?
I miss the slow melodic solos with feeling.

Not sure, but have only been looking for about 15 minutes.
I found the full video of that though
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84Kw8B2RvDo

With the venue and the time period it should take too long to find what it is on.
Stage set looks like Somewhere Back in Time, so I am betting it's on Flight 666

Gorgeous.

Can't believe this is 12 years old already - where DO the years go!?

Still - since I now have it in-hand - that's a good 4 hours that will be spent watching QUALITY instead of some of the crap we've been exposed to lately

Cheers Trev :thumb2:

(* EDIT *) - LOL - just noticed you updated your post . . .

Here is some Amy Lee if you want to hear her sing a little.

Edit - that video led me to an even better one.
Hey Ian, any chance you might want to hear Amy Lee and Lzzy sing a duet?

Alice Cooper released a new song yesterday.
It directly addresses the current situation we are all facing, and it sounds like classic Cooper

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi-OYHTjypo

BTW - I also like the way he did the video.

I just watched the Alice Cooper video - pretty good. Was classic AC, didn't disappoint - hit on the pandemic perfectly.

Yep - another one of THOSE posts - "20 years old today" - frightening!

This was released SIX DAYS before we left the UK and set foot in Canada to start our new lives - AMAZINGLY apt as an album title.
  • • So pleased this was the last album released before we left the UK.
    • So effin' thankful I'm a heavy rock fan
    • So grateful for Iron Maiden
    • So blown-away by this album (arguably their very best)
    • So appreciative for the videos out there of this gig (easily at the top of my list for "concerts I wish I'd been to")
Stuff like this instantly reminds you how friggin’ awesome life can be :jam: :jam: :jam: :jam: :jam:

Amazing album.
I agree it is right up there as far as one of their greatest offerings. It is always in my top 5 (which changes occasionally)

This was the album that brought me back to Maiden.
I was still a fan, but was unimpressed with X-Factor and Virtual XI (and honestly, NPFTD and FOTD rarely get any plays from me either)
But this album blew me away, even though I still think the 2 singles are some of the weakest on the album.

This tour is also what got me back to going to concerts. Which for the most part had been put on hold while raising my family.

Here is an old one that everyone forgets about

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNR2oCu ... SM&index=1
GTR - When the Heart Rules the Mind

Was listening to Yes - Roundabout today on the radio at work when this song popped into my head.

I’ve been a bit on the slow side with this. Released to YouTube May 15th and spotted by me 5 days later (coincidentally, the Wife’s Birthday).

Loved it from 1st listening.

I was going to post it here at the end of May as my “Song Of the Month” on May 31st, but the days have somewhat escaped me of late.

So here you go:
  • • An amazing, cheery, “UP” song
    • Catchy (try not to tap your feet and it’ll totally earworm you after a listen or two!)
    • Well-played (damn that guitarist is good)
    • Clever video
    • Doesn’t hurt to include the lyric “Be the Predator” :D
      • . . . and FINALLY a voice to challenge Lzzy’s (and DAMN is she drop-dead-gorgeous!)
Smackbound – “Drive it Like You Stole it” (I’ll post the links soon to their covers of Dio's "Don't Talk to Strangers" & Whitesnake's "Still of the Night" - wow!)

Thanks for that.
Great tune, which then lead me to check out more of their stuff.

Really jamming to this one right now

That's so funny - that's the only one of theirs I don't like :) (not fond of the chorus).

The album (their first) is out on June 12th. These folks are awesome.

Here's another 2 that'll knock your socks off (for all sorts of reasons!) . . .

Smackbound – “Run” – damn that lady’s flexible, and (again) what a voice! (and at the risk of sounding like Chanandler Bong – “Run. Run Netta. Run like the wind!”)
    • Image

Smackbound – “Wall Of Silence” This is SOOOOOO Halestorm (but with keyboards – and boobs).

June 20th. Great anniversary for a couple of reasons . . .
  • 1) 45 years since “JAWS” was released (my Son just reminded me).
    2) 35 years since the Scorpions “World Wide Live” (album AND VHS) were released (I reminded my Son).
9 months after the release of “Love At First Sting”, the tour https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_at_F ... World_Tour kicked-off at Birmingham Odeon (loved that place before they converted it to a multi-screen cinema), and the Scorps were on a friggin ROLL and gaining speed!

From the inside of the gatefold vinyl (mine - pulled to take the photo):

    • Image

I was at 1 (if not both) of the Birmingham gigs. I don’t remember the dodgy stage set they talk about below – but DO remember those brilliant gym-bars they used to climb all over.

The 1hr “documentary” of the tour that came out on VHS got played SO much I wore it out. It was a staple at ALL the parties I held at my place for YEARS.

2 new interview vids talking about the tour – ah the memories. I effin’ LOVE the Scorpions!
