It just shows what a terrible thing depression can be...it's just hard to imagine that someone who's given so much pleasure to so many, who was loved by so many, could feel so alone that he would do something like that. Very sad. I remember buying that first Boston album back in '76. What a talent...always wished I could sing like that.

10 years since we lost poor Brad Delp - still LOVE his work with Boston but there's always a temporary tinge of sadness when I remember his passing and wish SOMEONE could have helped him through his depression.
Still miss you Brad - one of the best singers EVER.

Wow - been 10 years? They just announced Boston coming here this summer along with Joan Jett. Sucks though - I already have tickets to a cardinal baseball game that night.

I've never been in the right place at the right time to see them live.Scooke123 wrote:Wow - been 10 years? They just announced Boston coming here this summer along with Joan Jett. Sucks though - I already have tickets to a cardinal baseball game that night.
ALMOST caught up with them when we were on vacation in California maybe 25 years back - but the gig was already sold out.
1 of 2 bands I have on my bucket list - BUT - had really wanted to see them with Brad

I did see them years ago when they were a fairly new band. Opening act was a new guy going solo after leaving Montrose. Boston pretty much played every song they had on their first 2 albums as their setlist. Was a great show!!

Those first 2 Boston albums are (to this day) at the top of my album list for "feel good" music - and possibly my fave 2 albums EVER.Scooke123 wrote:I did see them years ago when they were a fairly new band. Since I'm guessing that the opening act was a certain Mr. Hagar - the whole night must have been awesome

Re: Boston lead singer found dead in his home
I saw them back in 2004 in West Palm Beach. Delp had a younger guy singing with him because he was beginning to have trouble hitting the high notes, by his own admission. Also saw them at the Roberto Clemente coliseum in Puerto Rico way back in the mid 90's, AND I saw them with my son last year at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL. Tom Scholz can still tear up that guitar, and it sounded so good. By then, of course, Brad was gone, but the new singer did a pretty good approximation. Still, he wasn't Delp. Rest in Peace Brad. We miss you.
