Saw Garth Brooks at the Wynn in Vegas on the 11th.

Just him, and an acoustic guitar. Fantastic Show.

Say what you will about G. Brooks, the man can play, sing, and entertain. I'm not the biggest country fan (although I do like a lot of brooks stuff), I'd definitely see him again in a heartbeat.

Set consisted mostly of covers (of his main influences growing up), and some of his bigger hits. The man should really put out a covers albums.

not a country guy either but always thought garth was a fabulous entertainer & talent...loved his version of KISS' hard luck woman...

i'll be seeing YELLOW MATTER CUSTARD on sunday...premiere musicians playing beatles tunes:

wiki:
Yellow Matter Custard is a Beatles tribute supergroup consisting of Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Transatlantic, OSI, Liquid Tension Experiment, Liquid Trio Experiment, Avenged Sevenfold), Neal Morse (Transatlantic, Spock's Beard), Paul Gilbert (Racer X, Mr. Big) and Matt Bissonette (Mustard Seeds, Jughead, The Squirts, Joe Satriani, ELO). They take their name from a lyric in "I Am the Walrus", by The Beatles: "Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye".

More a project than a band, they performed only twice: on May 17, 2003 at Upper Montclair, New Jersey and May 18, 2003 at B.B. King's Blues Club, New York. The latter performance was recorded and released as the double CD One Night in New York City later that year, on the Radiant Records label. They will be performing three more times in February 2011, with Kasim Sulton filling in for Matt Bissonette, who has a scheduling conflict.[1]

Now also available as a Video DVD also from Radiant Records, released at the end of 2005. DVD special features include rehearsals prior to the gig and exclusive audio commentary from Mike & Howard Portnoy (Mike's father).

Make sure you post about it after the show.
I like a bunch of their stuff, and am curious how they are live.

I'll promise to say Hi! ;)
I seem to remember you told me this a couple of years ago. Well, it'll be my first. Not really from the "Festival generation" but this year just had so many great bands I couldn't stay away. And it's Rob Zombies first gig here since the White Zombie days.
