The MPC Barnabas Collins model kit converted into COPP Peter Cushing as Van Helsing figure is complete! I realize I didn't dot the eyes with a pupil...I eventually will as my confidence grows. It's tough for me to get the pupils right on figures of this size (BTW-they can advertise this kit as 1:8 scale until they are blue in the face...I own a RULER and I KNOW better...lol...it's actually somewhere between 1:9 scale and 1:10 scale). Also, the missing pupils are barely perceptible while viewing the kit in person, as the eyes are a much darker blue under normal lighting instead of the flash...the base is just a simple nothing I blobbed out of Sculpey and quickly stained so he would have somewhere to stand until he can take his rightful place on the base of my completed vampire diorama...and in his favorite situation, too...surrounded by vampires! Thanks to COPP for making the conversion parts readily available!
Thanks
S.P.

Wow!
Very cool.
Nice work.
One tip, when you go to do the pupils, try using watercolors.
Easy to wipe off if you don't get them where you want them,

Re: Peter Cushing Van Helsing Conversion
This looks great. Did you sculpt the head or is that an aftermarket item? For painting eyes I find using a round toothpick works great for painting the iris and pupil. You can use just the very sharp tip dipped in paint for the pupil. Cutting the toothpick end off at various spots and experimenting allows you to control the diameter of the paint drop size of the iris when painting those as well. It gives you a nice round iris and pupil.
