Website NOT SECURE

#1 Post by RockinResin »

Hi. Does anyone else keep getting a warning whenever they login to this site that says “Website Not Secure” in red letters?

It may be your anti-virus settings.
I get the same message when I try to go to the Wonderfest site.

It's probably down to the move by some browsers to (Chrome etc) to start flagging *any* site not using https and still having "log in" functionality as "not secure".
Technically that is correct, but on a forum like this where no bank details / CC numbers or other important information is stored, there is not a huge amount to worry about.
Basically the world is moving to secure, encrypted internet protocols. It matters more in some areas than others.

I've been using Panda for anti-virus, etc. for a few years but it only started blocking some sites in the last few months.
The simple fix was to go into the settings and create exemptions trusted sites that it was blocking - in my case, the Wonderfest site.
It's a pretty simple fix so long as you're sure about the site.

I've gotten this message for months now. Sent a message to a moderator but didn't get a reply. It still makes me nervous.

Don't use the same username and password on different web forums and it's nothing to worry about.

The reason you are seeing the “Not Secure” warning is because the web page or website you are visiting is not providing a secure connection. When your Chrome browser connects to a website it can either use the HTTP (insecure) or HTTPS (secure). Any page providing an HTTP connection will cause the “Not Secure” warning.
