Every once in a while I take one of Krentz's 1:72 models out of my Stack O stuff and give it a shot. This time it's his Chalicotherium. I ditched the little base and built my own.
Thanks for lookin'

You've worked wonders in a compact space. Cool to see such a remarkable animal perfectly rendered in 1/72. The ground work and tree is really nice. A great example of natural history modeling. Thank you.

I think it looks great! Really nice job on the base there, I wish I could do something like that.

Re: Krentz's Chalicotherium
Thanks guys.
Base is super simple - just some Aves over a wooden base and the tree is a weed I pulled out of the garden. I put a little more Aves around the base of the weed to make it look like a tree with a wider base than top. I also scratched the Aves on the tree to simulate bark. When dry, I primed the tree black and then hit it again from the top down with white primer for a zenithal (sp?) light. Base was primed gray and then blobbed with different Citadel washes. Finally added the animal and some ground foam both on the ground and in the tree. Done.
