Future of Texture Pads?

#1 Post by kevtk135 »

Hey Gang,
I heard of this stuff called Cosclay, a few months ago. It's a polymer clay that bakes into a flexible material.
On FB today they had an announcement that the product is going to be released soon. From the announcement -
For those of you that haven't heard about this product, Cosclay is a revolutionary new polymer clay by the makers of Monster Clay, that cures flexible instead of rigid. Say good bye to broken sculptures. The future of Polymer Clay is flexible!
So I went over to sign up for announcements and they have a very short questionnaire. On the "What will you do with it?" question, one of the answers was texture stamps!
Never thought of it. So if any dinosaur sculptors or guys wanted an easy way to replicate the pattern while filling any gaps, this stuff might be worth it's while.

Head to : http://www.cosclay.com if you want to keep up with the product. *

(* I have no financial interest in this Co. just an interested party.) ;)

Oh. I don't know, Ant. Going thru the clay shelf at the local craft store I never remember seeing anything like that -

But me posting made me remember the Monster Clay ppl sent the Shifletts some of it, including a baked snake of the stuff. They did a vid on it's flexibility -

Is it like Repliscale or other paint-ons? No, but I think I'm going to give it a shot.

I'm sure the gave us some stamps at a WF sculpting session I did YEARS ago...

But looking at that video, that's a different beast altogether - it's flexible, but not elastic - wow. That's crazy!

It's worth at least giving it a try. I'm sure there would be a lot of applications if it does work as well as they say.

Wonder if it's similar to Aves Knead a Mold? Been using liquid latex for years to make texture stamps. Thinking about picking some of this up and giving it a try!
