Nosferatu (Klaus Kinski) by Typhon Studios

#1 Post by derekc62 »

My first build of 2023 - 1/3 scale solid resin bust of Klaus Kinski from Werner Herzog's 1979 film "Nosferatu the Vampyre"

The bust was sculpted by Kent Kidwell (head) and Michael White.

The base was produced by Typhon Studios.

The base is very reminiscent of the movie poster and took longer to complete than the bust itself.

I've added a a sepia-tone filtered shot plus two reference photos for comparison.

I just watched this the other day on The Last Drive-In so it's fresh in my mind. Amazing work. The base alone is phenomenal but you also nailed Kinski's cold stare. Well done, Sir.

Thanks very much Tim.

Can't believe I haven't even seen the film! I remember watching Siskel and Ebert review it back in 1979 when they were on PBS!!

I think it's on amazon prime.. And if you have the opportunity watch it on Joe Bob Briggs Last Drive In. Lot's of trivia to go with it, which I am a complete nerd for. I had forgotten that Bruno Ganz was in it as Jonathan Harker. He was so awesome.

Thank you.

I'll re-submit.

I've been using 320 x 240 (for websites and e-mail) since it displays well on the page.

You haven't registered your CH screenname over in the Gallery, I'm guessing. Need to keep out the Bots and screwballs. Give it a go at https://theclubhouse1.net/piwigo/ Just register your CH login and I will OK it.

There may have been an automatic log out.

I just used the link and was told I wasn't logged in.
