Death Knight Avenger
This is a 75mm kit from Black Sun Miniatures. It comes in 8 parts and made of gray resin. It's very well don with no bubbles and hard to see seams.
Getting started I knew I wanted to make her armor red metallic, so the first step is to prime the figure in Gloss Black. Then I added V. Chrome as a base, and then a thinned red -
After the red dried I added more chrome highlights ... and then decided I didn't like it. So it all got covered with more gloss black. It was then I discovered that Green Stuff World had a series of paints that already came as a colored metallic.
I ordered the colors that I didn't have in the Vallejo range, and while waiting I painted her face.
The paints came rather quickly and looking at the red colors I got, I didn't like them either. One was too pink, the other too light a hue. Time to change my mind. So purple it is.
Practiced my wood grain on the back of the shield
While I was waiting for all this to dry, I turned my attention to the base. I comes with 3 steps and a skull. But I had to add more. I randomly added a few pieces of foam, surrounding the stairs to a foam base. I forgot where I got that pile of skulls from, but I found it's place. Cool.
Watching another miniature painter on You Tube, he mixed Mod Podge with black acrylic paint to add as a base coat. It' makes things strong and the Mod Podge protects the foam. Miliput was also added as a floor, and then I rolled it with a cobblestone ROLLING PIN from Green Stuff World. These rolling pins are terrific and have a few different ones now.
I painted the blocks with various colors of Gray. I then added a few colors to the cobble stones to united the figure with the base.
V. Terrain Paste was used to cover where the rolling pin didn't make an impression. I added the figure and was calling it done. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Scott. GSW's new metallic line is really an A+ in my book. With the order they even give you a color wheel sticker, so I was able to see what was the complimentary color to my metallic lilac. heheScott_Sheltz wrote:Terrific paint job - love the color choices!

Excellent work.
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be! -Puck

Thanks Carl!
Oh I'm using Opti-visors for everything. But I'm very thankful that my hands are still steady (so far).
