Re: Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer
Made some metal horns to switchout with the bone horns.
Think I like the metal horns a little more.

More shots of bone horn compared to metal horns.

Mounting Frazetta Conan sword on shield when hanging off his back.

Picture WHOLE statue-double axe with original head.
Will post more pics later.

Thanks bara_dur,
Put some bloodwork on Frazetta Conan sword, also added a thicker broadsword to changeout for a more aggressive over the top look.

Thanks Trevor, should be done but keep finding cool stuff to add on and tweak.
Re: Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer
Thinking about adding a mace to Conan the Deathdealer’s arsenal...think it would fit right in.

Re: Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer
Made a mace/chain weapon to add to the switchout arsenal of Conan the Deathdealer.
Due to the size and weight of the weapon I decided it would look better if the left hand was pointing downward, so I decided to make some extra hands both left and right for the switchout weapons.
I used apoxie sculpt fixit to make the hands, I had to cutoff the left hand then keyed and magnetized to make it a switchout hand, the extra hand that I made was made to point down in the 2:00 to 8:00 position which made the left arm with the heavy weapons such as the Death Hammer the big Axe and the Mace/chain weapon look a lot more relaxed and natural looking in the pose.
Below is the original hand that was cutoff keyed and magnetized.
Below is the second hand that I made out of Apoxie sculpt fixit, very hard and durable stuff.
Below is mace and chain in hand, the short handle version.
The extended handle version.

Mace with extended handle.
Mace with short handle and extended chain.
This pic got me thinking about making another hand to show weapon’s pointing down in a more relaxed look, especially with heavy weapons like the Death Hammer, the big Axe or the mace/chain weapon.

I look at awesome work like this, and wonder where I get the nerve to call myself a modeler?

What great work on this you did and are doing.especially like what you did on the horses mouth with defining the teeth and adding a bit. Dont know if you would consider this but the horses eye is not small it will take up more of the socket. The white eye or watch eye would be thinner like a cresent moon maybe brighter to compensate. Just a thought from someone who sees them every day. Keep up the great work.
Re: Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer
Thanks storm heart, thanks billikenmonster, I actually dremeled and resculpted the teeth following what was originally laid down in the mouth, by the time I finished It, it didn’t look right, had to look up horses teeth and discovered that for the front of the mouth they only had 6 teeth on top and 6 teeth on the bottom, once I had proper anatomy pictures of the mouth for reference it fell right into place and made a huge difference, it really did turn out great in my eyes.billikenmonster wrote:What great work on this you did and are doing.especially like what you did on the horses mouth with defining the teeth and adding a bit. Below were my reference pics that I used.
As far as the eyes of Frazetta’s Deathdealer horse, I had no desire to change it up as far as the whites around the eyes go, I do think Frazetta did it purposely to make the horse standout and look more supernatural, I did make the pupils red to make the steed even more supernatural looking.
I did find a couple pics that could have been what Frazetta was after as far as the horses eyes go.
Wanted to give the steed the supernatural look like the sleepy hollow steed from the tv series, while still keeping the eye position accurate from Frazetta’s painting.
Re: Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer
I made a switchout right hand for resting weapons on right shoulder awhile back, just realized I didn’t post it in this thread yet, able to switchout Frazetra’s Barbarian sword the Deathdealer sword or the Death Hammer.
Re: Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer
Making another Deathdealer helmet with open bottom to show partial Conan face under helmet, keep finding stuff I think would be a cool addition.
Re: Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer
Stunning work!
I have this statue and maybe someday I will have both the nerve and skill to make similar improvements.
