Adding details to the top of the head to make sharper delineation where dreads attach to head
Refined the biceps
Refined some of the abs
Slimmed down the midsection of tail
Adding spikes to tail
Beefed up backside
And still working the dreads
I like lots of spikes on my dragons and creatures but they are a real pain in the butt to put on…
Just a bit more clean up of some of the details and then ready for painting
Thanks !
Hah, well, for once, I am mostly good with this first paint job. Miracles do happen I guess?
It has a lot more “tigerish orange” like color and variation than these pics show.
I plan to make the top of the head more reddish and have darker red down the spine for some contrast.
Thank you very much B-A !
I sincerely appreciate your frequent positive feedback and very helpful comments.
You know how critical I am of my own painting efforts, but in this rare case , I have to say I am very happy with the results.
My pics do not do this paint job justice. The colors are not as bright, monochromatic , and garish as the pics appear to show ; it is much more toned down and has a lot of subtle but evident variations in the reddish, yellow and orangish colors.
My goal is to create very unique and one-of-a-kind creations, and I think I achieved that goal with this one.
Still a little more work to do, and for once in this rare case, that does not mean re-painting the whole thing !
I plan to use the Steve west alien landscape base for this bash too. And I am going to try to do a lava effect with that base, so that will be a “learning” process no doubt , …expecting a few paint restarts (as usual) for that paint effort…
