Where to find 1/6 Action Figure Body Parts/Clothing/Weapons?

#1 Post by bucketfoot-al »

Hello everyone! Well, I am gonna leave dinosaurs and Harryhausen aside for a little bit and work up some custom action figures for myself and a couple of friends.

I have already secured the customized character heads I needed, but have no idea where to go and buy the body parts and other accessories (clothes, weapons, etc.) that I will need to make the figures.

Before I spend days Googling, do any of y'all have any suggestions where to look?

Thanks!

I'm a member of the One Sixth Warriors forum and it is a great resource for ideas, tips, and techniques. Right now, there is one incredible figure that has realistic hair and custom-made clothing & equipment (from custom-printed cloth) http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/s ... hp?t=62881

I realize that most of the figure stuff there is military, but it can give you an idea of just what you can accomplish with some work!

My main source for 1/6 bits is the $2 shop. That's a chain of cheapo shops over here, the likes of which you find all over the world. They sell all these chinese toys, and some have excellent accesories, often completely random and unrelated to the actual figure they are packaged with. i buy these whenever I see them, as the bits are bound to come in handy eventually. I have found these to be a particularly good source of non-military hardware, I've got kitchen equipment, tools, computers, phones, stereos, allsorts. The "Darth Geek" figure here has a cellphone and laptop from the $2 shop.

There's also a range of 1/6 figures, I think are called "world peacekeepers"; they are reasonable toy quality, and do modern SEALS, desert storm types and so on, with all the related hardware. This brand also has a complimentary range of civillian figures, including a surfer, fireman, fisherman, mountain biker, camper - all kinds of civvy gears and outfits. I've bought a few of these for stuff like sunglasses and sports gear.

Great information! Every now and then I look for 1/6 scale accessories for figures and usually spend a lot of time not finding anything.

Ebay, you get alot of variety but most sellers are in Hong Kong, so it takes awhile to receive!

I have used Toy Anxiety and Monkey Depot, no complaints!
