Very nice!!! (Although you have me wondering what that black and lava-red motif you put on the other bash would look like here ...) *BAH* it looks GREAT either way!!! :D

Thanks !
Hah, nah, I have had enough paint restarts on this one already, so going to stick with this scheme.
I am finally pretty happy with the direction this paint job is going, so hopefully I won’t mess it up ….

Oooooo!
I am really liking this. The highlights and dark edges you've added really make this so much better.

Geez Joe . . . either a system glitch or I accidentally unsubscribed from stuff I was subscribed to . . . I think I'd best do a check to see what ELSE of yours I need to catch-up on :shocked2:

From THIS page at least - it seems you've been up to your usual tricks of creating "great better" from "great existing" =D>

I'll do a re-check on your posts tomorrow.

Using some ground chalk to add shadows in wing depressions. First time using chalk.
Still need to dry brush back body, arm and tail details.

Saw the first rear photo pop up as I logged in and I got a chill down my spine - like I had just unexpectedly glimpsed a weird bat creature.

Nice work - love the chains holding it up so you can paint! :drool2:

Thanks B-A and Trevor !

I have always struggled painting the wings of my various dragon and other creature bashes.
But I am pretty happy with these wings.

I have been using ground up chalk to shade the depressions on the back of these wings and making the fingers on the front of the wings appear to be under the skin of the wing webbing. The wing webbing veining effect is much more subtle than appears in the pics so I am pleased with how that turned out too.

I need to get this dragon finished ASAP, so I can focus on getting the kits I plan to bring to wonderfest in Contest shape.

Freaking awesome! This angle looks like you just have to come up with another dragon to mount above him in a fight to the death! (There's an idea! )

Thanks B-A!

Hah , actually you guessed it, that is exactly the plan that I had!

I am considering two options.

1. I have another one of these vermithrax dragons and could make the same style changes to it and have them attacking each.

2. I have a very large size 3d printed gryphon (see pics below) that I could modify to have it fighting the vermithrax.

I am leaning towards option 2 as doing the same exact changes to another vermithrax would be kinda boring and I would rather use the wings from that vermithrax for a different bash.
